Libs-Still trying to blame your defund the police actions on Republicans? Pathetic. For such a racist and bad country...to let dems tell it...people are sure trying to get here and dems can't help them enough with their invasion.

House Democrats proposed a new spending bill that would cut funding to immigration enforcement agencies and rescind funds allocated to the border wall.

The bill, which makes appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), allocates $14.1 billion in net funding to Customs and Border Protection (CBP), $927 million less than the previous year’s budget, according to a press release from the House Committee on Appropriations. The bill also rescinds $2.1 billion in funds from last year intended to go towards the border wall, and provides Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with $1.55 million less than the previous fiscal year.

Both CBP and ICE funding totals are below what the Biden administration had requested. The bill also provides no additional funding for Border Patrol agents.

“At a time when there is an out-of-control situation at our border, we need to support our border enforcement officers, not defund them,” House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “House Democrats are now applying their socialist ideology to defund the police to the border by advancing legislation to defund our border and immigration enforcement.”

The budget cuts come during an influx of illegal immigration to the U.S., with border encounters reaching a two-decade high in May, according to CBP data.

Republican lawmakers have criticized the Biden administration’s response to the border crisis, pointing to its inaction. “Despite the urgent need to secure our border, the crisis has been ignored by the Biden administration and Democrats in Congress,” McCarthy said.

The measure includes funding for migrant processing and detention, with $170 million allocated for construction of “integrated migrant processing centers” and $23 million for migrant processing improvements and child care.

“I continue to have serious concerns regarding the physical and mental wellbeing of individuals, particularly children, at border facilities,” Appropriations Committee Chair Rosa DeLauro said in a statement. “We must do more to protect immigrants, especially children and their families.”

The bill also increases funding for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, adding almost $400 million from the previous year.

“As recent events like the Colonial Pipeline hack have demonstrated, it is obvious that we must do more to secure our nation’s cyber infrastructure,” DeLauro said. “That’s why this bill’s investments in preventing cyber attacks and rooting out cyber intrusions are so critical.”

The bill is set to be debated in the House Appropriations Committee on Wednesday.

While Republicans been a vocal opponent of the concept of defunding the police, the Trump administration's 2021 budget proposed funding cuts for local law enforcement programs. To the tune of 400$ million.
Actions speak louder than words... and the obvious backstabbing of the blue is one political ploy that is hitting Republicans, hard.

What local law enforcement programs were to be cut? Were these nothing more than "feel good" programs that would have zero impact on crime or were these programs meant to hire, train and equip more officers?

hat's wrong dems? Social workers not working out for you??

A judge has officially ordered Minneapolis to hire more police officers after the city council was sued by residents who are alarmed over the rise in crime across the city and the corresponding drop in law enforcement instigated by radical leftists.

“Minneapolis is in a crisis,” the eight plaintiffs in connection to the conservative Upper Midwest Law Center noted in their complaint. They cited the rise in shootings, murders, and the violent George Floyd protests that have taken place in Minneapolis according to FOX 9.

On Thursday, Hennepin County District Judge Jamie L. Anderson granted a Writ of Mandamus sought by Minneapolis residents that will provide a mandate to employ more police officers.

The city is expected to have approximately 669 officers employed by next June. But according to Anderson, that’s not enough to do the trick. She’s ordering at least 730 to be on the payroll by June 30, 2022. That’s commensurate with .2 percent of the population recorded by the 2020 Census. The city council and Mayor Jacob Frey have been ordered to “immediately take any and all necessary action to ensure that they fund a police force.”

Officers in big cities such as Minneapolis have been leaving in large numbers due to the “Defund the Police” movement propagated by liberals and the overwhelming anti-police climate they are being subjected to. Many departments are no longer protecting their officers so they run the risk of lawsuits or prosecution every time they attempt to do their job. Leftist policies have the potential to get officers killed as they are restricted from carrying out their duties per their training as well. Many no longer feel it is worth the financial or personal risk.

In her decision, Anderson cited that Minneapolis residents were able to prove that the city’s rising crime rate was caused by a “lack of police officers” and has “led to personal injury to them,”  KSTP reported. The filing states that “one of the petitioners was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and had their house shot at twice,” according to KSTP. Anderson also stated that the residents had no other recourse left to them to solve the lack of law enforcement after they wrote a letter to the interim city attorney and were informed the city doesn’t have to have all of the police positions filled at once.

Thank a dem:

“It is undisputed that: the crime rate in Minneapolis has increased since the killing of Floyd, one or more Petitioners have suffered injuries from that increase in crime, Ms. Lundberg has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and the Court previously found that that the Petitioners have the standing to bring this mandamus action,” Anderson wrote in her ruling on Thursday.

The plaintiffs who filed the lawsuit are residents of Minneapolis’ Hawthorne and Jordan neighborhoods. The group includes Cathy Spann, Sondra Samuels, Don Samuels, Audua Pugh, Jonathan Lundberg, Aimee Lundberg, Georgianna Yantos, and Juliee Oden.

“We have made the emotional appeal,” Don Samuels, one of the plaintiffs and a former City Councilmember, stated. “We have demonstrated the statistical uptick and now this is the legal action we are exercising because it seems as if the city council cannot hear us and doesn’t feel what we feel.”

“Every night in the Jordan neighborhood, on any given block from Emerson to Lowry, you hear gunshots every night,” Spann said during the announcement of the lawsuit. “What do we do? Who do we call if the city council says we’re going to dismantle and defund your police department?” she demanded.

The City Attorney’s Office is reportedly having its legal counsel review the order.

A judge ordered Minneapolis city council & mayor must hire MORE police.  Siding with residents who say their lives have been damaged by severe lack of police. De-fund & re-imagine is not working.
Replying to
Dems in Minneapolis want to fund the police so much that they had to be ordered by a judge to do it!
