I wonder just how many people there are that visit and read these forums anymore? There is no doubt they used to be much more visited and popular in the past then they are today or so it seems.
Today, I wonder is there really more than a handful of people that participate? Then I also wonder how many people there are that actually read the post here but never participate?
I guess what I'm asking is ... Are we just talking to ourselves? Ourselves being a very select few.

Yes, rhetorical as I can see the activity and it is an exclusive club
'Exclusive'? Hardly. People come and go as they please. Liberals (the Party of 'inclusion'???) show up and post trash. Conservatives attempt to open peoples' eyes to what is happening in America. Conservatives have attempted to find 'common ground' between us, no matter how small, only have our attempts soundly rejected. The days of 'playing nice' are over, I'm afraid.
Sometimes I look at the past posting of people that have been here a while, like you. Doing this has shown me this used to be a pretty active place. It's a pity it couldn't be active once more, with people actually discussing all sorts of things, without the personal attacks. Now, I did see plenty of those personal attacks then, but there seemed to be more actual discussions of different things.
So... What has happened to make us so divided?

Yes, it did use to be a lot more active than it currently is, I will agree. With regards to the "personal attacks" in the historical post, I do hope that none of my past posts would be included in that description as I have always tried to keep things non-personal and respectful and if I have failed in doing that then I do owe an apology if I slipped up. We all do have tendencies during rough or bad times to be thin-skinned and it's always possible that I didn't meet the goals I desired to meet with regards to posting but, as I said, if I did then I regret that. I cannot control what others do but I can control my own self (hopefully).

I don't remember reading any personal attacks you made on anyone.
