"She was accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting the 17-stone Kirk Anderson, a Mormon missionary, who had become the object of her passionate affections."
After apparently failing to persuade him to marry her and father her children she then seems to have forced him to have sex with her.

Maybe some of you can enlighten me, but how can a man be raped?
Seems he would have to be "in the mood" first, so how could that be considered rape?

I suppose your argument could be used for female rape victims if they exhibited any of the physiological responses associated with consentual sex. "Well, she became aroused... she must have wanted it."

Wiki explains it well: "Non statutory female on male rape is widely, but incorrectly, considered impossible because male erectile response is seen as voluntary, when, in fact, it is involuntary. [3][4] Fear, anger, anxiety, and non-arousal have been cited as factors in being unable to obtain an erection. [2][5] Therefore, male victims of rape by females [6] often face social, political, and legal double standards. [7] Though studies show otherwise [8], female rapists are usually seen as less culpable than male rapists by the courts due to these misunderstandings."

I work with several quadriplegic patients. Even though bodily sensations are not transmitted to the brain through the spinal column, they are transmitted to the spine. When bathing or even changing a diaper for a sleeping patient, there is evidence of arousal. Certainly a bound captive could be "raped."

No argument from me, just my opinion.
As for female rape victims & your statement of
"Well, she became aroused... she must have wanted it.", I'm sure there are lawyers that have or will use that defense.
I have a friend that was raped & almost beaten to death, and she didn't become aroused.

Aroused, probably so, but could he perform the act? Probably not. My point being that a man with a normal sexual appetite, once aroused, would perform the sexual act.
