On the front page of Netscape today this article appeared:

From the article:

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Aug. 13) - A man who said he wanted to volunteer for the Arkansas Democratic Party barged into the chairman's [Bill Gwatney's] office Wednesday and shot him three times, wounding him critically, police and witnesses said. The suspect died after being shot during a 30-mile chase.


I'm 99% certain I went to camp with ol' Bill one summer when I was 14. If his personality hadn't changed, the only question I have is what took so long? Talk about an arrogant SOB. Frowner

I can't imagine who would marry the guy. They are all probably jumping for joy because now they inheret the car dealerships and don't have to put up with his self-importance any more. But hey, that's just a guess. Don't give him credit for being a successful entrepreneur, the dealerships were started by either dad or grandad, I don't remember. But he always made it very plain who he thought he was.

Sarah Lee wasn't the secretary's name. She was the sales clerk at the flower shop across the street. The secretary ran there, to ask her to call for help.

In any event, just because someone is a rotten person, doesn't mean it's justifiable for someone to hurt or kill them. Arrogant or otherwise, he didn't deserve to die because of it either.

I don't find it funny, at all. I feel for his family, because I'm sure even if he was the rotten kind of person like you say he was, doesn't mean they didn't love him any less.

Thoughts and prayers go out to them.

My bad, I just skimmed the article, but Sarah Lee is funny, and maybe it is only geographically humerous.

I've had close encounters with about 5 people in my life who, after getting to know them, thought the world would be a better place without them. He was one.

Turns out he was divorced, so I doubt the ex is grieving. He had two kids. I hope they are nothing like their father.

I am 99% certain (Make that 100%!) that you are a heartless cretin with absolutely no rational concept of JUSTICE! Whatever his personality traits might or might not have been, justice is not served by the cold-blooded murder of one human being by another. How do you style yourself, Crusty Cretin? Are you a "compassionless conservative" or what? Not that any credibility is to be given your answer, seeing what a quagga you have already made of yourself by your crude and intemperate post!
