OK, I normally do not comment on politics or anything of that nature, but i was watching the Today show this morning as I got ready for work, and Obama decided to add his two cents to the "Weinergate" scandal in his interview with Ann Curry. I do not condone what Weiner has done, however, I would like to remind everyone that our last Democratic President was caught having "sexual relations" with one of his interns, AND LIED ABOUT IT TO THE ENTIRE NATION!

He was not impeached, nor did he resign his position. And our whole country and government is ready to burn Weiner at the stake for his nude pictures that he sent to some women. Again, I do not condone his behavior, but come on people, lets compare apples to apples here! If you're gonna go on a witch hunt, be sure you have a bonified witch.

I have a suggestion for our governmental leaders:  Instead on focusing on trying to ruin a man that has obviously already made great strides to ruin himself, turn that energy toward something useful, like resolving our economic problems, or reducing our national debt.  We, the people, would love to see our country return to it's glory!

Agreed Nagel.  Although I fail to see the point of impeachment without removal from office.  Nonetheless, I believe everyone understands what I am getting at.  In my eyes the Clinton scenario is a much worse offense than that of Congressman Weiner.  Whether or not in the opinion of the people his "scandal" makes him unable to perform his duties as a congressman is a debate for another day.  My point is that I feel that the situation has been blown out of proportion.

The impeachment by the House of Representatives is like an indictment returned by a grand jury. When the trial is held in the Senate, someone from the House (or someone they choose) acts as prosecutor. The impeached party is responsible for his/her own counsel. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presides in case of the President. Upon 2/3 vote, the impeached party is immediately removed from office.
