Does anyone really know what member rankings mean? Does anyone really know what constitutes member rankings? One only has to look at the member list of the forum sorted by member ranking to see that most of the top 10 or top 25 members ranked on the site never seen to be active.

II do know that some of the members ranked in the top 25 have been banned and thus will not or cannot return and participate. Others have not checked into the site in many years and either have decided to leave or have sadly died.

Lastly if one looks at the top three members that are ranked as the highest two of those names are the same person and the third is one that has been banned. The value of the member ranking of the two that are essentially the same person has achieved such a high value that given the dates they participated it's almost impossible to conceive how such a ranking could have been obtained numerically wise I mean.

It is not being envious of a ranking number more than it is just a curiosity of how someone could obtain such a large value when activities on the forum yield a set numerical value toward that member rank and there just seems to be confusion over what actions contribute to the ranking, how much those contributions are, and how over such a short time such numerical levels could be achieved?

Then again I haven't much to do tonight so just thought I would post this curiosity and see if it gets an answer on the feedback forum?

I don't know how it works either but here is what I'm wondering about.  From what I have been told Bestworking and Jennifer are one in the same person and yet both member names are ranked 1 & 2.  There is some merit to that assumption or statement that both are one and the same and that is that Bestworking is shown joining the exact same day as Jennifer's last visit.  If that is the case or even if it's not it's hard to see how Jennifer accumulated 111,202 points in about a 6 month period.

Bestworking has the following stats:

Last Visit:
Joined:
Points: 150,517
Member Rank: #1
Jennnifer has the following stats:

I do know I didn't post as much or as often as those three above me however those in the top 3 positions of Member Rank have such high rankings it makes me curious as to how rankings are earned?   How many points does a post ad to your overall points?  How many points does a reply add to your overall points?  Does checking-in add to your points?  Is membership held in perpetuity even when a person is banned?   A look at many of the members in the list reveals that many haven't been active in 5 or more years and many longer than that yet their names/IDs are still maintained on the site.  I don't have a problem with that mind you because it's nice to be able to look back at the historical posts of various members and I agree that those posts should be kept until memory space dictates that those inactive members be removed.
Again maybe I just don't (or didn't) have enough to do and the curiosity got the best of me but as Gus said, above, it's doubtful that any one of the moderators even looks at the forum anymore but you would surely think that someone would care to check the feedback section from time to time.   I know it hasn't been that way because there have been members banned before so some are listening or reading.
