So the news from Down Under about a Muslim who took over the coffee shop is getting big play in the media world wide. Bet the USA media will say the moderate Muslims had nothing to do with this and if there is any back lash against Muslims it is because of the racism of the rest of the world. Here is a statement from way back when that is most appropriate today as it was back then. Now let's see them call him a racist.

Sounds like Australia is as bad as the US about letting known, insane criminals roam the streets to kill at will.

-------------------------------------------------

Police have not publicly identified the gunman but a police source named him as Man Haron Monis, an Iranian refugee and self-styled sheikh known for sending hate mail to the families of Australian troops killed in Afghanistan. He was charged last year with being an accessory to the murder of his ex-wife.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott said the gunman was well known to authorities and had a history of extremism and mental instability.

During the siege at the Lindt cafe in Sydney's central business district, hostages had been forced to display an Islamic flag, igniting fears of a jihadist attack in the heart of the country's biggest city.

Yesterday, I heard an Australian politician trying to explain why this perpetrator was out on bail and serving 300 hours of community service.  First she said that he did not actually carry out the murder of his ex-wife.  He only paid to have her stabbed to death and then set afire.  She then went on to explain that the sexual assaults, although, there were many, were not of a serious nature.   His letters to families of deceased soldiers, was also not serious.  She said that they are looking into strengthening their bail  requirements.
