Oh, okay, well thanks for clearing that up. Now, if you'd asked me right out whether I like dogs or adult people more, I'd have said dogs.
I can think of a few myself.

I hope you know I wasn't talking about you! Just adult people in general. I love that saying, "The more I know people, the more I love my dogs."

I find it hard to believe that the family pet of two small children posed a threat to a grown woman. If it was in self-defense, so be it, I just still find that hard to believe.
You're leaning pretty heavy on the "beloved family pet" statement from the first post, aren't you?
There are regular news reports of children, women and even grown men killed by "beloved family pets". Do a search for "woman killed by dog"...you'll get a long list of links to stories.

Sassy...perhaps I did lean a little heavy on the fact that this was a pet of two small children. You'll notice that I also said that if this dog posed a threat to this woman then "so be it". I did say that I found it hard to believe but I am also quite aware of multiple attacks by dogs thus my "so be it" mentality. I would simply like to hear more facts about why this woman felt threatened by this "family pet" because I know of people who have such low self-esteem that they might shoot an animal just for the pleasure and magnitude of it. I'm an animal lover but I am also one who places humans on a much different echelon and I feel that a human life if worth much more than a dog's...but, I still wish to know if she was truly threatened because, if not, I truly fault her for this.
