At Minneapolis-St. Paul airport, Muslim taxi drivers have refused to transport about 5,400 passengers because they had alcohol in their luggage...They said carrying alocohol violates Islamic Law...these people are working for the public in public transportation...isn't this carrying your religous feelings to work and expecting systems to turn on their needs.....another example of how fragmenting we are becoming....

Or are we 'slowly' being acclimated to THEIR way of life, so when they out number us, we follow them?
why are their employers allowing this behavior?
This is why religous beliefs do not belong in the work place.People are hired to do a certain service and for that service they are paid a salary. These Muslims are neglecting their position of service, employment. They also may just be violating the rights of some of the very persons they refused a ride.

Cabbies are contractors, they rent the cab, and keep the proceeds. But, I agree with you. I don't want the airport authority saying I cannot carry alcohol in my luggage. They do though, you can't carry a litre of Brandy in the cabin of a commercial plane. You could once, but not now, to much liquid. I don't want the Cab Driver Looking in my bags to determine if I am "carrying" and I don't want him looking under my veil to see my beard.
1. A pharmacist refusing to dispense birth control .

2. A civil servant refusing to perform a legal same-sex marriage/civil union.

3. A fertility clinic refusing to provide service to lesbians

all need to change professions if these services are against their religous beliefs to the point they cannot render the services .Same for the muslim cabbies, find another occupation that does not hinder their beliefs.

The customers need to turn this around on them. When enough people refuse to ride with them, They will change their minds. Hit 'em where it hurts their wallet!

Good IDEA... America, the Home of the FREE..... UNLESS you ride in a Muslim cab? Besides, I are there really that many people who drink in cabs? And don't people call cabs at "closing time" to get a safe ride home?... Like you said, maybe when dispatched to a drinking establishment, this cabbie should turn that ride over to someone else... or IF he is working for an employer, the employer should tell him WE PICK EVERYONE UP, DRINKING OR NOT...
