They aren't???

From all of the quoting of scripture on other threads in this forum, you could have fooled me!

(My brief list was to highlight that all religions have some set of "rules" or "codes" that they live by. Skymaster seemed shocked that some Muslims avoid touching dogs. I have read accounts from other Muslims that "prohibitions on dogs vary by juristic school, and the simplest thing would be for the students to take the Maliki exception on the prohibition".

Not sure about what a "Maliki exception" is, but I'm sure a quick Google search could inform us all.

Also add to the list that Christians cannot drink, dance, have pre-marital sex, divorce, or commit adultery.

(I'm still confused....Christians do all of those things.)

If you knew anything about Scripture, you would know that Christians didn't stone anyone.

Some of the intelligent posters on this forum have pointed out the need to "bare arms" against homosexuals.

(I was also being sarcastic. I know Christians aren't supposed to stone anyone. Supposed to being key. Nowdays, shooting is acceptable.)
I miss typed I was questioning that a Christian was suppose to stone someone. I have read the Bible my whole life and Jewish law would stone some people but I had never read that any one was suppose to be stoned under Christian law.
Yo estoy it is one thing for a Christion to stumble and sin it is another to say that Chirstians are suppose to do a certain item.
It probably won't make sense until some of the posters who have more insight into what I am talking about read this thread and respond.

There have been several professed "Christian" posters who advocated violence against homosexuals.

It was a sarcastic little quote that I probably shouldn't have mentioned, but I do have a sick sense of humor. So I appologize for "leaving you in the dark".

I just find it odd that some Christians get to have their cake and eat it too. They can sin and judge others and do not feel any "guilt". I've never understood this, which is one of the reasons you might say I am "doubting".

It also is off topic, so I will not mention anymore about it.

This one kid who was Muslim threatened a dog. The whole Muslim faith didn't advocate killing them. They believe dogs are dirty, much like Jews do not eat pork because it is unclean. Hindus believe cows are sacred and should not be killed. Vietnamese eat dogs.

There are a lot of "wacky" rules that exist regarding animals and the treatment of them.

But this kid shouldn't have threatened the poor dog. The school should have recitified this situation a lot sooner. Mostly by threatening to kick out the student or just kicking him out in the first place. If the boy with seizures still felt uncomfortable, I guess they did the best thing by giving him credits.

Catholics fast for certain religious events.

Jews must eat kosher food.

Christians are to stone homosexuals.

Please tell me in the Bible the exact location of the reference to Christians stoning anyone. I believe you have your Testaments mixed-up.

Still twisting the truth I see. Why is homosexuality on your mind so much? Your agenda is clear. You turn a thread about a muslim into a homosexual discussion. Roll Eyes

Who was the "self professed Christian"?

BTW...muslims kill homosexuals.

Muslim Student Threatens To Kill Service Dog.

Well, thank God the Muslim just threatened the dog. At least he didn't do like some of our American people do to animals, like one dude from the Shoals who cut little Taco's ears off with boxcutters. Adults arrested for abusing and mistreating animals, like starving them to death and leaving them tied in the hot sun. And all this was done right here in the Shoals area. Can you imagine the animal cruelity that takes place in all 50 states? Imagine some of these bad Americans that do the child abuse. I guess we've got good and bad in every nationality.
""Also add to the list that Christians cannot drink, dance, have pre-marital sex, divorce, or commit adultery""Yo estoy

Drink: yes but not to excess
Dance: yes
Pre-marital sex: not a great idea for anybody
Divorce: yes, for valid reasons
Adultery: no, but again, not a great idea for anybody.
At least, that's the way I see it. Feel free to disagree.
Now, where is my wine glass?Cool

I do believe Jesus said he who is without sin cast the first stone. I do think he needs to go back and reread Wink
You are supposed to love one another and not condemn one for being homosexual but pray that they will get on the right path.
Some ultra-orthodox Muslims do not keep pets at all. The dog is "ritually unclean" but Muslims are supposed to treat all animals with kindness, and most schools of Islam law allow the keeping of dogs for work, i.e., shepherds, hunting, etc.
This is evidently more a Somali taboo than a general Muslim one. I know a number of Palestinians and they love and keep dogs. The Afghans certainly keep dogs as do the Iranians and Turks.
I don't really trust people who do not keep dogs -- unless they convince me it is a phobia, allergy or that they are too poor to feed them!

Dogs force the lazy to get at least off the chair or couch and to the door a couple of times a day, unlike cats. When is the last time one heard of a "rescue cat?"

Nothing like moving and tying a Doberman to the front rail outside and then taking him around the block a few times to let the new would-be hoods in the neighborhood where to avoid! Somehow an attack Persian doesn't seem to do the trick and a dog sleeps beside you, not around your neck!

Yes FV, it was humor through absurdity. It is absurd to think stoning someone could be a good thing and smiled upon.

I'm not Hispanic, but I feel that if I change my name I will be accused of creating another "personality" to further my viewpoints, so I have chosen to keep it. I'm actually 1/16 German--white and pale and a lover of beer. I do tan easily though. Thanks to my father's side.

Just so I'm clear, I would NEVER advocate stoning anyone. I was pointing out how absurd all religions can be when it comes to "rules". They seem strange to those who do not practice that faith or do not know anything about the faith.

I know the Bible "prohibits" stoning. I also see jetboy couldn't wait to respond!
Yo Estoy,

When I was in college I had a fraternity brother who was dating a girl named Edith. My frat bro was really into going canoeing on weekends. He had one of those one-man style canoes. His girlfriend complained to me incessantly about him not spending enough time with her on weekends.

I remember telling him one day that...he was not going to be able to have his kayak and Edith too.
