You totally missed my point, Pitboss.
The military issue is not the point I was making in mentioning the Spanish speaking commercial on national television. Regardless of race, creed or religion, all American soldiers have my support and utmost respect.
My point is this: My sister attends church in Franklin County. Over half of her class members are current teachers in the Russellville school systems. They have shared in class that their English-speaking students were falling behind because it took so long to educate the Spanish-speaking children. More likely than not, there is illegal citizenship in all aspects of that situation. When I go shopping at our local grocery stores, I'll see a tiny trinket of a car pull up with a 33/Franklin tag and it's like a skit from a circus of send in the clowns. Ten people will get out of those little cars and you have to wonder how many have a green card.
There are all forms of nationalities and cultures. As far as I know, they are not pushing their languages. The Constitution of the United States was written in English, not Spanish!
No thanks for the Klan membership. The only thing I would join is a million man march to rid America of illegal immigrants.
No I didn't miss you point, what I was inferring was that to reach segments of the population whose primary language is Spanish they do commercial in Spanish. I can't see any harm in doing that.
As to the situation in Rusellville can't really speak to that since I'm not familiar with it. My own feeling is that the immigrants whether legal or illegal are filling a niche that our own people won't fill.
The comment on the klan was a joke about the article that appeared in this mornings TD about the resurgence of the klan in North Carolina and other locations.
The immigration issue is complex and is not going to be fixed anytime soon. Mainly because it is a minor problem compared to the problems caused by the illegal war in Iraq sucking all the money down the tubes.
