Last night there was a house fire on County Road 5 in the Central community of Lauderdale County. The family living in the house lost everything and did not have any renter’s insurance. The Red Cross responded to help, but are limited in the support they can provide. There was also a response from neighbors and strangers in the community offering what assistance they could to the family which was very humbling to see.
That is one the good things about living in the Shoals as we always seem to rise to the occasion to assist our neighbor in need in times like these.
If you wish to help this family and other like them in the Shoals, please contact the local office of the American Red Cross or in this incident, the Central Volunteer Fire Department.
