NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said in a recent interview that his "foremost" mission as the head of America's space exploration agency is to improve relations with the Muslim world.

Though international diplomacy would seem well outside NASA's orbit, Bolden said in an interview with Al Jazeera that strengthening those ties was among the top tasks President Obama assigned him. He said better interaction with the Muslim world would ultimately advance space travel.

"When I became the NASA administrator -- or before I became the NASA administrator -- he charged me with three things. One was he wanted me to help re-inspire children to want to get into science and math, he wanted me to expand our international relationships, and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science ... and math and engineering," Bolden said in the interview.

Remember Ronnie, What you read isn't really what you read. The Liberal Dem's on the forum have for a long time said we are all crazy for believing that Obama and his Administration favors Muslims.

It's amazing how when you inject ANYTHING Christian into a secular or almost any other discussion involving anything having to do with our Government you have a host of detractors yelling about "Separation of Church and State" yet there is Silence when it comes to Muslims. Even more than silence there is a bending over backwards to accommodate them.

One would almost think that we (collective of Obama's Administration) is sending up the white flag of surrender to the Radicals with all the acquiescing on policy, allowing the new mosque near Ground Zero, apologies about America's past actions and almost every other policy that deals with Islam including not allowing any of the Administration to refer to Radical Muslims as Radicals or terrorist.

America, or most that voted in 2008, voted for "CHANGE" and sure enough that's what we got .... Pitiful and embarrassing Change.
"He said the United States is not going to travel beyond low-Earth orbit on its own and that no country is going to make it to Mars without international help."

The above quote from the article shows me that we need to get this guy out of NASA. We first left low-Earth orbit in the 60's without any international help. Reminds me of an article I saw about the World Cup, the superstar (NASA) needs to act like a superstar and stop playing down to the level of the rest of the team (the world).
I don't know why anyone would have a problem with this. The Islamic world has contributed to science for 1000's of years. They need some recognition in the scientific world.
Maybe the next probe, satellite, or manned mission could carry a Muslim name.
Oh! I know, just like we sent the probe to Mars, we could send a probe to Uranus...and name the probe Allah!
Headlines could read: "ALLAH PROBES URANUS".

I like that!

As to the scientific contributions of the Muslim countries there must have been a much more intelligent crop of them around way back then. It seems that for the last couple of hundred years all that they have been capable of producing are rugs and corpses.
