I've come to the point where I hardly ever, if ever, darken the doors of McDonald's.   I do have some fond memories from my younger days and did so enjoy, or used to (as in the past) McDonald's hamburgers and french fries but anymore since all the changes McDonald's has made I just can't find a way to enjoy it anymore even the "freshly made" Quarter Pounders.  I'd much rather have Five Guys fresh made burger and fresh fries but there is a price for them.

To me the absolute best tasting Fast Food Hamburger is found at Burger King and while I used to not like their french fries I've come to really enjoy them so Burger King is my favorite Fast Food joint and unlike McDonalds Burger King's changes and decisions have improved their product and made them much more desirable.  I also enjoy Wendy's and Jack's for a flat grill burger and of the others, I really like the crinkle cut fries that Jack's serves.   Hardees might be good but I just haven't found the opportunity to give them another try and never did eat at the one that used to be in Florence.  I do really think that Hardee's made a mistake when they eliminated the Roast Beef and their 'fried chicken from their menu offerings as I thought both were very good and tasty but it's been so long since they offered them I wonder how many actually remembered they were available at a time?

As for Fried Chicken I still like Chick-fil-a (and their waffle fries) but after that I'd prefer Champy's Chicken followed by Popeyes and then KFC although having a variety is a good thing cause when you tire of the one you always have another to go to.   As for Jack's Fried Chicken, I just find there too bland tasting for my liking, at least their bone-in Chicken is bland but the tenders are a lot tastier and as I said before I do love their crinkle cut fries.

I do miss the days when McDonald's served the "best" french fries and I actually can remember eating at the East Lake (Birmingham) location when they actually cut their fries fresh from whole potatoes and fried them up in that "unhealthy, fattening" oil.  Maybe the fries made the hamburgers/cheeseburgers taste all that much better I don't know but thankfully at least Burger King is there ready to serve most anytime.
