For President Obama to come out now and say, “We need to cut spending in order to get this nation on a sound foundation” is a lot like an alcoholic showing up at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting drunk and lecturing the audience on how they shouldn’t drink so much. The House has came out with a legitament proposal that passes the House easily. The Senate rejected it on party lines. They have no legitimate proposal and we know the President hasn't had anything. This President has spent more money than the rest combined. Yet he lectures on.

What if...what if BushIIe had just left the Clinton plan in effect, only increased spending by the amounts that entitlements are legally required to be increased, and left the country with a budget surplus and a decreasing national debt?  Imagine how powerful the Repub party would be right now.  So, yea, its BushIIe's fault that partisan gridlock might cause an even further collapse of the government.
