'Operation Fast and Furous': Thugocracy at work

The drug cartels can buy all of the guns that they need in Arizona, legally. They can also carry them most places in Arizona, legally and without any kind of permit. Drug cartels no longer have to worry with breaking the law regarding gun purchase. Arizona has made it legal and easy for them. Alabama will probably be next.

I saw a story on this.  I know but it made sense.  The cartels are sending cash up here and having people buy these guns to send back.  The government knows they do this but doesnt want to stop it because of the revenue and taxes made off the sales.  The show actually followed one of the persons in there who bought 25k worth of guns with cash in New Mexico and the dealer never said a thing about it.  The person would not let them follow to where they dropped off the guns but the viewer got the idea.

The gun dealers warned ATF of the large number of purchases. But, were told to proceed with the sales -- some as large as 40 at a time.  The ATF set up fake Class III shops to sell automatic weapons to the cartel.  Then, had the temerity to blame the gun shop owners

Justice and the ATF are scuttling about like rats trying to cover up their deeds. Congress need to proceed with contempt of congress, so they can subpoena records from the government.  Higher ups should be impeached, then tried for manslaughter.

Usually, government coverups are worst than the crime.  Not this time!

The gun shops owners should sue for defamation of character.

It looks like Bush & The Gang got out just in time.

The problem is the NRA-backed legislation that does not control the number of guns that an individual can purchase, per year, and per lifetime.  The Repubs pass such legislation without regard to th consequences, and the Dems dont interfere as part of their acquiescence  to the Repubs to get the legislation that they really want.  The Mexican cartels are just using our laws against us.

They're covering up something worse than Nixon ever did.  US and Mexican LEOs died because of this plot. Plus, hundreds of Mexican citizens were murdered.  Several ATF and Justice employees should be glad the US doesn't have an extradtion treaty with Mexico for our citizens.

Issa will probably have to go to the floor of the House to get a contempt of congress motion passed. Hence, to the courts to get it enforced. I see no other way that will force the Atttorney General to let the witnesses and evidence be presented to his commitee.  That, of course, assumes that the AG will obey a court order. 

The ATF is attempting to fire the main whistleblower. They took his badge and gun away and put him on paid administrative leave while the dismissal procedures go thru. He's a 24 year veteran of the ATF with good appraisals until he exposed the gunrunners. 

He'll probably be dismissed, but win in the end.  The Interior Department dismissed their chief of police seven years ago for simply telling Congress she didn't have enough resources to guard the Capitol park grounds.  In January, the final board re-instated her with full back pay and legal expenses. But, it was a rough road for her.  I remember seeing their IG patrolling the Lincoln Memorial in his dress blues -- probably the only uniform he owned.  They are usually plainclothes.   

The investigation of this fiasco could very well be Holder's undoing, as well.
