He may need to choose a new career
oh geez, another thread.
Ok. He can't spell, he runs off at the mouth, he doesn't know what he's talking about. How would you like him to judge you?

Sounds like about 99.9% of the people on the TD Forum.
I could care less and don't see what all the fuss is over.

Hilarious! And so true!
This reminds me of a joke I read not long ago! This couple were on their way to church to get married and were killed in an automobile accident before getting there. So when they died they ask St. Peter could they still get married, he said. 'hold on' so long time later he comes back to the couple with a preacher, they asked 'what if we want to get a divorce'..he said.. did you not see how long it took me to find a preacher, do you know how long it will take me to find a lawyer..

I'm glad i'm to know i'm in the 0.01% catagory
Same here, Dr. P...and don't forget humble..."so hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way".
This is all a tempest in a teapot. While he may have been wrong about his accusation, I'm hardly offended by the "sorry ***" expression. Good grief, you all! This is 2010, right?
Bobby Denton is simply dead wood whose replacement is long overdue. He is not an icon.

Here's the deal. Someone who is a believer screwed up and people have to see how quick they can call him a hypocrite, blah, blah, blah. Believers are not perfect and make many mistakes. Heck, a Christian will let you down every time. Just remember it is the person who offended you and not God. And the cool thing is, God will forgive this man for being a bonehead. And if he asks Senator Denton for forgiveness, then it is Senator Denton's place to forgive him. That doesn't mean they have to hang out and be buddies. So, just drop it and quit using this story to further your own retreat.
maybe the pastor needs a replacement too!!!!

Would you want to sit on a church pew & listen to this man preach love & forgiveness, not judging our fellow man, when he spewed the nastiness that he did?

99.9%? Does that include you?
I think there are some people on this forum that doesn't fit into your 99.9%.

I plead the fifth. Kinda like the joke where the guy says he has the right to remain silent, just not the ability to do so. I've been there before, so I feel for the Pastor.

Hahaha! Good point. So if you came to him for advice for, say, your impure thoughts...like you called someone a panty waste in your head earlier in the week, what would his advice be? Don't apologize unless your impure thoughts make it to the general public?
Opinion on Steve Thompson? He should become a Methodist!
Someday he may really read his bible. And if he does so in the right way , asking our Lord for only the truth maybe he will find it. And then search what is written and then obey. I'm pretty sure he has not as of yet. I hope he will at least try.

Or a Catholic! He could act like an a** all week long, go to confession, and start all over again the next week.
I've known Steve Thompson for over 15 years, and he is an absolute, uncaring p r i c k.
I cannot stand him. He is rude and should not be the face of any church.
And he's a terrible painter too.
Yes, he paints. So he does have a back up plan.

Let us not judge him. I am sure he will judge himself.

It wouldn't bother me as long as it wasn't a regular behavior and he really wasn't an "uncaring p r i c k". If he is that way on a regular basis, I would definitely have a problem with it and I would address him. But I do not know this man. All I know is that he lost his cool. He asked for forgiveness. That is that. He is a human and he messed up. There will be consequences to his behavior and that is rightly deserved but to say he should not be in the pulpit is not for you or anyone else to decide. (Bearing in mind he is not regularly that way or unless his authority at church deems it necessary for him to step down). Outside of that, if God so leads him to step down then that is fine. However, I am sure this man is not the only ordained man to get mad and say or do something stupid. The good thing is that God is a forgiving God. It would just be nice if His people would follow that example.
