We're facing a massive state-by-state assault on our fundamental freedoms. My job at the ACLU is to support ACLU staff across the country who are on the front lines of responding to this state-by-state onslaught.
The ACLU is on the ground defending freedom in all 50 states. But with our opponents escalating their attacks going into 2012, we need to be ready to respond at a moment's notice in every single state — including right here in Alabama.
Help us reach today's goal of 125 more donors from Alabama. Your donation of $35, $50, or more will be doubled thanks to our Rapid Response Matching Fund. (Do not forward: This link will open a page with your information already filled in.)
We've seen voter ID laws aimed at restricting access to the ballot introduced in over 30 states, hundreds of bills put forward to restrict access to abortion and birth control, and a wave of "show me your papers" racial profiling laws passed.
No matter where these threats arise, all of us must respond. Our goal today is to add 2,000 donors to our Rapid Response Matching Fund. We've done the math — we need 125 people in Alabama to participate.
Make a Rapid Response donation of $35, $50, or more and your gift will be doubled in its impact.
As extremists escalate their state-by-state efforts to undermine freedom in 2012, we will have our work cut out for us. But, everywhere I go, I meet people who have had enough and are ready to fight back. You and the ACLU must lead the way.
On behalf of my ACLU colleagues all across the country, thank you for responding as quickly and generously as you can.
Sincerely, Geri Rozanski Director, Affiliate Support and Advocacy |
