Good call. I am beginning to think the Shoals is more left-thinking than San Fransisco. I am in shock that there is so much Anti-American sentiment in the heart of Dixie.

You're right, it's not always the case. But far more liberals believe we are the ones at fault in this war rather than islamic extremists. Also, liberal organizations like CAIR (council for American Islamic Affairs) and the ACLU are defending these terrorists as well as illegal immigrants.

jptorisky, I agree with what you are saying here, but one thing that bothers me is the "labeling" of people.

Right Wing, Left Wing, Liberal, Conservative... all labels, when all we are is simple people with minds of our own. I don't go by a label, and therefore, I don't like for someone who doesn't even know me to label me.

Bush was SUPPOSED to be conservative, but that went out the window a long time ago, even Condi said that in her interview, because Conservatives are not supposed to be so wrought up in WAR and lost lives, that the only answer she could give is that they were "thinking" with more liberal thoughts these days... (Pre-2007)

Have you considered the possibility that People are beginning to CHANGE their minds? Is it remotely possible that the San Francisco liberals caught on quicker than the Shoals? Is it within your power to consider that the US has gone from about 80% to about 30% approval of GW Bush?

Note to imho...I cannot speak for PBA 54, BUT I am not a resident of Alabama. I am also Not going from forum to forum bashing Bush. I don't even think Bush is responsible for the fine mess we've been gotten into.

And you are totally correct, Americans are changing their minds so fast, it is hard to keep up with it. People are NOW seeing that their sons, daughters, neices, nephews, grandkids could be on the next list to go, and maybe not come back.

With all this increasing that Bush is wanting, pretty soon, the ONLY option he and his cronies will have is to initiate the draft, and people are looking ahead to and deciding to jump ship on his support.

God in Heaven help us... the can of worms that have been opened will be just too hard, if not impossible to close.

Whether you like it or not we are all labeled. That is the way the country works. I am not saying all liberals are evil but I am generalizing their ideals. No one agrees whole-heartedly with their party's beliefs. However, there are some central values that all share in common with each other. You can't argue with that. I also believe that Bush is not truly conservative in his actions either, as is evident by his massive spending.

I think that this whole nation is slowly moving to the left and it is the unraveling of our country. No one is held responsible for anything anymore. Government will fix everything. Family values are a thing of the past and heaven forbid anyone mention the word, "GOD"!

Masses of Conservatives are jumping ship right now and taking a more liberal view... (NOT TO LABEL ANYONE THOUGH ) but that is what is happening, because they see what is happening, (took 'em six years) to actually SEE what is going on in our country and they just dont like it anymore.

We are fighting a war of attrition...hit and run...city fighting [the most dangerous for an aggressive army]....use banal means of warfare...no large confrontations on their part...no large loss of insurgents...use our own media against us....20,000 more troops will not help kill an enemy when strength of force doesn't matter..this sound familiar to anyone...
