FYI....I was at ECM a while at 2:15 PM and the power was out. It had been out for about 3 hours and is not expected to come on again for at least 3 hours. They do have some emergency power but it is dark in some areas.

A maintenance man was down in the bowls of the hospital changing out a large fuse. He was electrocuted and flown to Vanderbilt hospital in Nashville. He was electrocuted on the hands and top portion of his face. The say if he is able to see again he will have to have a cornea transplant. I'm told the maintenance man had been electrocuted 2 or 3 times before and that he was not an electrician.

smurph!! Thanks for the update!!! Thank God for the people who are working to restore power and keep it on.

My prayers to the man who got electrocuted.

And do you know WHY the power went off???

I just keep thinking of all the heart machines, the monitors, and everything keeping people alive... all that stuff could drain a Generator, or at least not work as well with a Generator than with electricity....

They think he is going to be able to come home. He suffered a hand injury and burns to his face. He did not receive any more serious injuries. They also did not find any fragments in his lungs. Power was restored last night about 6:30 and Irons Electric was going to begin working on the issue again this morning. The man, Wayne Miller, has been electrocuted one other time. He is a very luck man.

Thank God he wasn't hurt any more than that, I am glad he is doing good, and that power has been restored. Bet it chaotic around there for a while.
Very chaotic. A lot of the offices were the ones without power so the backup generator could supply the patient's rooms with power. They are continuing to work on the problem today/tonight and are not sure when it will be completely 100% fixed. A work from Irons Electric had minor injuries - burns on his face and an injury to his foot, but nothing like Mr. Miller.
