Senator Barack Obama, responding in part to new competition for the women's vote from Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, outlined his plan to overhaul education yesterday, pledging to double federal funding for public charter schools, spend $500 million to upgrade school technology, and award merit pay for teachers, including higher salaries for math and science instructors.

Probably true, however, wouldn't the public school be better served with the Obama girls attending? Like Howard suggested it would improve a school system in shatters. Share the wealth (and knowledge)!
Isn't that part of the Dems mantra though -- that they are for the public good -- they are for the every day man? The every day man's kids go to public school -- so maybe they will go to public school. However, I agree that it would be more cost-effective to have a tutor come to them. Even in a private school -- that would be a lot of secret service to have to protect them. Then again, what do any of our politicians know about being cost-effective?
