I understand.  Faith is belief in the absence of proof.

This is a disgusting and inhuman concept.  I submit that faith is the permission that otherwise intelligent adults give each other to accept nonsense. Nonsense that is not only without evidence to support it, but nonsense that has perfectly good evidence against it.
I know you are a Catholic, and we will discuss Transubstantiation elsewhere, but regard your Creationists neighbors.  They profess to believe that the Universe is 6000 years oldl

Yet the have "faith" that they are right.  They embarrass faith.  They make it worthless.

As a mental exercise, substitute "pretend" for "faith" in any discussion..  The conlcusions won't be different.

And there is nothing I can do to change your mind about that, my dear. But, I do believe- of course not in a 6000 year old earth, but I do believe in God. Have felt the breath of the Holy Spirit, and have felt the presence of Jesus with me. I know that my life on earth is of little consequence to anyone else. And I await the life to come;-) Faith is not something I can prove, but I can feel, and I do KNOW. We are at a crossroads in this conversation because I can't teach you to believe in God any more than you could convince me that He does not exist. Deep darlin’ if your stayin’ awake concern is someone believing in the 6000 year limit for the equation you are nuts. We can easily argue that the age has not yet reached 1 and we are on a journey to it but are in an unknown position before 1.  We know the speed of light is just that and nothing else. It’s simply the ‘speed of light. Nothing else has that speed. Just light has that speed. The equation E=mc^2 is many times written as E=m without using the c^2 because for certain equations the speed of light is simply stated as being 1.

  Let’s say an arbitrary number of 6000 is selected as a limit. Due to the target accuracy being argued is 13.85 b/yrs and cannot be measured at the 6000 yr point, no matter what the age the answer can never be other than 6000. The age of the universe can be anything. Given the rest mass of the universe + it's mass due to  velocity is so large the acceleration for 13.85 b/years makes it near the infinite mass of even a single particle with rest mass other than zero measured near the speed-0-lite. We don't know how old it is.

Bottom line is DF dearest you are stuck in a classic world of laws that science and veeplee have left long ago. Your cursory knowledge keeps you in the dark state.

We are awaiting references, study citation or statistics to see where he came up with this "fact". I assure you, that's NOT in the bible. Now, Bill, you made that "factual" statement. Show us the references or any data to indicate that is anything but your opinion. Even just an author of the study will do- I can google it. Awaiting your reply to this very specific question.

Can you not do this? Then are you able to state how you know this? Or were you assuming, lying or just making things up.
