Funny, they didn't fear the Tea Party movement. So I guess it's okay for a grassroots movement like the Tea Party to start from nowhere then go on to shape policy, only because the policy is aligned with right-wing ideology.

Rep. Peter King Fears Occupy Wall Street's Policy Influence

Congressman Peter King (R-N.Y.) is afraid that the growing number of Occupy Wall Street protesters, along with the mounting media coverage of the movement, may end up shaping U.S. government policy like the anti-war protesters did in the 1960s and 1970s.

King was speaking on Laura Ingraham's radio show on Friday when he blasted the protesters as "ragtag mobs" and said he remembers a 1960s left-wing movement that took to the streets and caused policy changes after the media "glorified" the protesters. He hopes that the Occupy Wall Street protesters aren't re-creating the spirit and influence of that historical protest movement.

King, the chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, said the protesters have "no sense of purpose."

"The fact is, these people are anarchists," King said on the radio program. "They have no idea what they're doing out there. They have no sense of purpose other than a basically anti-American tone, and [they are] anti-capitalist. It's a ragtag mob, basically."

King isn't the only Republican who doesn't like what the protesters are doing. Herman Cain, a former Godfather's Pizza CEO and a current GOP presidential nominee candidate, has said protesters don't have anyone else but themselves to blame for what's going on in their lives....

Democrats, however, have taken a more sympathetic approach to the protesters. President Barack Obama said in a press conference last week that the Occupy Wall Street protesters have demonstrated "the frustrations that the American people feel that we had the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression ... [and] you're still seeing some of the same folks who acted irresponsibly trying to fight efforts to crack down on the abusive practices that got us into this problem in the first place."

But King refuses to give the protesters any credence.

"It's really important for us not to give any legitimacy to these people in the streets," King said. "I remember what happened in the 1960s when the left-wing took to the streets, and somehow the media glorified them and it ended up shaping policy. We can't allow that to happen."

Cantor slams Wall Street 'mobs' and Dems for egging them on

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) described Wall Street protesters as a mob on Friday and implied Democrats were egging them on.

In a speech to the conservative Values Voter Summit, Cantor said he was “increasingly concerned by the growing mobs” and criticized Democrats who have showered praise on the protesters in New York and other cities.

“Some in this town have actually condoned the pitting of Americans against Americans,” Cantor said.

The "Occupy Wall Street" movement that started in mid-September in New York City's financial district has since spread to cities throughout the United States, including Washington. Protesters say they are angry about economic inequality, corporate greed and the influence of money on American politics.

As the phenomenon has grown — and been characterized as a liberal version of the Tea Party movement — most Republicans in Congress have been hesitant to directly criticize the activists, instead blaming President Obama and Democrats for economic policies they say have hurt the country.

Some GOP presidential candidates have taken a harder line. Mitt Romney called the movement class warfare and said it was dangerous, while Herman Cain called the protesters "un-American."

Rick Santorum offered Obama some unsolicited advice, recommending that he distance himself from the protesters.

Nancy Pelosi's response to this hypocritical dimwit:

(I've posted her comments, but there's video in the link.)

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called out Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) for calling the 99 percent movement a “growing mob” after having supported the Tea Party movement. “I didn’t hear him say anything when the tea party was out demonstrating, actually spitting on members of Congress right here in the Capitol, and he and his colleagues were putting signs in the windows encouraging them.”

Okay, then explain how it's not a hypocritical stance, given the violent history of the Tea Party.

Forgive me, I was wrong, you are seem to be funnier when you're serious. Really sad now...

Everything on the site is well-documented; I'd read all of it before.  And there are links on the site to the sources (that's what that "click here" button is for, Mark).

Riiiiight... So your were trying for the "moral equivalency"? Fail. I clicked, show me real unedited video or pictures. You can't? Why? Most of that has been disproved as lies.

Here's one of your  "winners"

Hmmm...not sure how video of a girl getting stomped in the head, a man's wife being assaulted, and pics of a sign threatening gun violence if the healthcare law passes were edited - when there were plenty of witnesses to all.

The evidence clearly speaks for itself.

I'm done with you, Mark.  You're not as amusing to me as you used to be - probably due to waking up to a "flabby old bag with cankles" wife every morning.

Good night.

Okay, then explain how it's not a hypocritical stance, given the violent history of the Tea Party

  • Demonstrators outside US Capitol shout racial epithets at Congressman John Lewis, obscenities at other Members of Congressional Black Caucus.  Click here.

  • Protesters at US Capitol spit on African American lawmaker.  Click here.

I’ll take the first two.  Despite a the number of MSM, in the crowd that recorded everything else, no recording were made of these epithets, racial or otherwise.

John Lewis, later, admitted it was a case of “say it, don’t spray it!”, not spitting.

The tea party had the largest demonstration, about a million, in DC, with no violence.  Attaching themselves to the OWLS will prove to be a BIG MISTAKE for the Democrats.  The Republicans will hang everything they do on them.  Worse than old shoes and tin cans on a wedding car.
