Hi to all my Forum Friends,

In the discussion I began titled "America Is A Nation 'WITH' Immigrants - Not A Nation 'OF' Immigrants!" my new Forum Friend,  Reynaldo, answered with good comments.  So, I want to take this opportunity to respond to him.

Reynaldo, some of your statements are contradictory.  But, let's look at all of your comments.

You tell us, "I don't think that you can take out all the illegal aliens and immigrants out of America.  It will cost millions of dollar.   You might can take some of us out, but YOU CAN'T GET RID OF ALL OF US.  I really can't imagine America without illegal  immigrants or aliens."

Actually, if we had honest politicians and judges (I realize that is an oxymoron) we could eliminate a large part of the problem.  You  may ask, "What problem?"  Well, first, the huge additional cost of having multi-language schools, forms, documents, and many  other things because so many illegal immigrants want to come to America -- but, they want to live like they are still in their old  country.

If I were going to immigrate to a new nation where English is not the national language -- I would learn their national language.  In  other words, I would want to fit into their society and culture -- not clash with it and burden their government to spend huge sums of  money to accommodate my reluctance to adapt.

You say, " I really can't imagine America without illegal immigrants or aliens."

Take out the word "illegal" and I would agree with you.  I could not, nor would I want to, imagine America without immigrants.  Yes, all of  our ancestors were either immigrants or colonists, even the Native Americans whose ancestors migrated from the East through  Siberia.  But, for most of us, they were here legally.

Let me give you several incidences I have witnessed involving "illegal" immigrants.  Several years ago, I was driving home from work.   Traffic stopped at a traffic light.  The lady in a new SUV, just ahead of me in the next lane, stopped.  But, there were two young  Hispanic males in the car behind her who were not paying attention and hit her from behind.

She got out of her car and the two  males got out of their car.  The driver hesitated for a moment -- then took off running into an adjacent apartment complex.  The  passenger started to run also; but, a group of men stopped him and held him for the police.

They were illegal immigrants, driving an older car with NO insurance and NO driver license -- and this is why they ran.  We do not  need this extra burden on our economy today.

Another is the Hispanic high school students in California who, two years ago, turned the American flag upside down and hung a  Mexican flag above it on the school flag pole.   This is illegal -- but, the local police and school officials did nothing.  Those kids  should have been expelled and taken to jail -- and their parents should have had to come and redeem them.

None of this happened.  Why?   Because, most likely, that town was run by Liberals and Hispanics.  This was a disgrace to  California and to America.  And, this is one of the reasons that many Americans, caucasian and hispanic, call for the illegals who  are causing all the trouble to be sent home.

This past year, in the news media we all saw a Hispanic demonstration where they threw the American flag on the ground and many  of them walked on it.   This flag they were walking on -- is the same flag that many young Americans are dying for today in our  military services.

Then, you say, "Sure, you might can consider us criminals, but I don't see anything wrong with trying to have a better life by working  hard and doing jobs nobody else wants to do."

I do believe the definition of a "criminal" is very clear.  It is one who intentionally, purposely, breaks the laws of the society in which  he is living.  You say that the "illegals" are breaking the law to have a better life.  I would venture to say that every bank robber, every  thief, every mugger, every burglar -- would say the same thing about himself.  He/she is only trying to have a better life!  But, he/she is doing it at the expense of others; their victims, taxpayers, and this country.

Who are the victims of the illegal immigrants in America?  Every honest American who is working and paying taxes.  Our tax money is spent to provide welfare, medical care, education, and many other things for people who snub their noses at our laws, at our  country's flag, at our society -- and then scream that they have rights.  The only rights an illegal immigrant has is a bus ride to the  nearest border.  And, then, his/her home country should be billed for the cost of deporting him.

Last week, a television news person interviewed an illegal immigrant and was told, "I don't care.  If they catch me and deport me, I  will just come back!"

In America we call that an incorrigible criminal, a person who cannot be rehabilitated.  If a burglar, bank robber, mugger, murderer, or rapist were standing before a judge in America and told him, "I don't care.  You can put me in prison, but, when I get out I will  continue to do the same thing again" -- can you imagine what a honest, conservative judge would most likely tell him?

"Not a problem.  We will just keep you in prison.  That will solve both our problems -- the victims for not wanting to be victimized  again -- and yours because you feel the necessity to victimize others."   Now, I realize that many judges are so liberal they would release a person who had killed the judge's mother.  That judge deserves to be victimized again -- but, honest Americans do not.

Next, you tell us, "The only criminals America really needs to watch are the gangster and killers.  Every nationality has their killers  and gangsters, and you cannot say that they do not."

So, you would judge criminals by the severity of their crimes -- right?  Killers should be locked up; but, honest thieves, burglars,  muggers, rapists, and bank robbers should be allowed to live within our society and continue their lifestyles.  Is that what you are  saying?

Sorry, that is not called justice; that is called Liberalism.   Which is what all the illegal immigrants are counting on; Liberal  politicians who want to buy the illegals' vote by giving him/her amnesty.

My personal view -- the illegal immigrant should be deported -- and we should send the Liberal politicians and judges with them.   They deserve one another!

Finally, you declare, "But like I said, it would cost millions to get rid of all of us.  And maybe in Alabama you can get rid of most of  us, but not in my home state California you won't!  Nor in New York City or Chicago or Houston!  And you guys know it!"

Let's address your "home state California" comment.  In your opening statement, you tell us you are an illegal.  Yes, you claimed to  be an illegal when you wrote, "You might can take some of us out, but YOU CAN'T GET RID OF ALL OF US."

First, that response is one of belligerence -- and that is a big part of why many Americans are pushing for a crackdown on illegal  immigrants.  Many of us are fed up with that arrogant, belligerent attitude; the attitude that America owes you something.

So, based upon that comment, I assume you are an illegal immigrant.  And, based upon that -- California is NOT your home state.   It may be where you have lived and grown up.  But, it is NOT your home state.  Being an illegal immigrant, we have to assume you were born in another country; possibly Mexico.  That is your home state/country -- not California/America.

You say it would take millions of dollars to get rid of you.  That is true.  But, it is costing us much more to allow you to stay in  America.

Am I against legal immigrants?  Absolutely not!  Do I hate Mexicans, other Hispanics, or people of other nationalities?  Absolutely  not!   My first wife was a beautiful Mexican lady from Colorado.  My three daughters of that marriage are of Mexican heritage.  My wife today and our children and grandchildren are Filipino.  One thing that always attracted me to the Hispanic and Asian people is that they have the same family values and family culture I grew up with in Alabama.

And, I do have friends, both Hispanic and Filipino, who I know to be illegal.  They are wonderful people and I love them dearly.  They are illegal and, because of that, they are breaking the laws of America.  Yet, I will give them all credit -- every single one that I know  with this status -- has worked hard to learn our national language and to assimilate into the American culture and society.

In this, am I saying that an immigrant should avoid, or drop, their own national culture and be 100% American in all ways?  No.  To  me it is beautiful to experience a family sharing their national culture -- in food, in dance, in song, and other aspects of their native  culture.  But, when these people go to the DMV, to the doctor's office, to a government facility, etc. -- they should be able to read and speak English.

Or, if they are new to America and do not, yet, speak English -- they should bring a translator to help them -- while they are actively studying to learn the language of  their adopted country -- and not burden America with having to provide translators for them, to provide all documents and forms in  their native language, etc.

Should schools have bilingual teachers?  Yes, in the lower grades only.  For the higher grades, there is no reason those persons cannot expend the effort on his/her own to learn to speak and write English.

I have very dear Friends, actually more like extended family, who  immigrated, legally, from Ecuador to America.  When they arrived, the dad and oldest son (11) spoke English.  The mom, youngest son (8) and daughter (5) spoke only Spanish.  Bilingual teachers for the young ones were definitely a plus.  The whole family  attended our church and even our Sunday School classes.  The dad would translate for them.

Today, ten years later, they all speak English -- the children better than me.   They made the effort to assimilate -- while at the same  time maintaining their Hispanic relationships and culture.  This family is a beautiful example of the core of legal immigrants who came, over the last 250 years, to the s****s of America -- and helped make it the great nation it is today.

These, Reynaldo, are my thoughts on immigration.  Welcome the legal immigrants with open arms.  Capture and deport the illegals with a "Bill Due" attached to them for their government to pay.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Have you reported them? And if not, WHY not?

I have family that owns some peach farms in south AlObama and use the same mexican family every year for workers in the fields. They get a free place to stay, get paid about $13/hour as of a year or two ago, and they will work as many hours a day as the sun lets them.  They come as a group of about 25, some cousins, uncles, etc, and some are illegal and some are legal.  The local sheriff knows that all of the farms have at least a few illegals and never once in my life has there been any investigation by any federal authority.  Your government wants illegal in the workforce.
