Yankee, I think roofer misunderstood and thought it was you talking him down. If you put yourself in his shoes you would probably come back with something like he did. I'm sure he was typing that last post when you were posting your last one. I'm sure when he gets back on and reads your last couple of posts he will apologize. I don't think he has a bad bone in his body and he's good about apologizing.

Wait a second, guys. If you read the other forum and see what this thing (46) posts you'd understand where Roofer is coming from. Now 46 is lying and pretending he doesn't know roofer.

And basically he's posting to celebrate Robert E Lee's birthday because the holiday is Martin Luther King's birthday. A not so subtle attempt to take away from the legal holiday.

Yankee.....Hold on.....Let me explain.....When I opened this thread.....I saw....What 46 said.....the there was my post to him....then his to me asking who are you.....I then seen where you said ..he is a decent poster.....I thought you was talking about 46.....and I am trully sorry...I misunderstood....46 has sent out alot of negative stuff in pm's...and in the TD pm's..and I guess I read it wrong....There are so many on here that post...and you and I ....well..we dont talk much...and I didn't catch your name...and I think the post went in about the same time...I dont know what happened...but now I loook back...and I see....I made a mistake....Yankee...I am Sorry...This is my mistake...I promise I will read and be more carefull from now on...I have taught myself a valuable lesson here...I jumped to fast...All I can ask is forgiveness...Everyone on here knows I wouldn't hurt anyones feelings for nothing...this 46 turd has even hijacked the other forum...he is a troll causing alot of problems...and I from now on will not respond to this pitifull person's comments anymore.....

I dont want to take anyone's side on this, but I do have to point out one thing;
Alabama legislation amended law in 1947 to make Robert E. Lee's birthday(Jan 19) a state holiday.
In 1983 law was passed to make Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday(Jan 15) a state holiday.
In 1985 law was passed to combine the celebration of both King and Lee on the third Monday of January, therefore making it a mutual holiday.
Needless to say, both were gentlemen of outstanding moral character, who's leadership has shaped not only the south, but the country as a whole.
We would be alot better off if there were only more of them in this day and age.

Wait just a minute girl friend, in the south we have been celebrating the honorable General Robert E. Lee's birthday for a hundred years.

Ronald Regan only made MLK's birthday a federal ( ankee) holiday about 20 yeras ago and he did it just to get the lback vote just before he ran for his 2nd term.

Please don't disrespect the Generals holday. No one has said anything negative about MLK. They both share the same birthday.

Hey, I love Robert E. If I had another puppy I'd name him Robert E. If anybody else had posted that thread I would've been lighting birthday candles. BUT...46:1 is nasty. I question his motives.

If Ronnie had ulterior motives for the holiday (and I'm sure he did) it was little brittle Nancy's idea!

I don't think 46:1 is going to be around long before is momma finds out what he is doing.

Vick13 in one of your post you left the impression that Gen. Lee's b'day was not a legal holiday, that MLK's b'day is the legal holiday.

Whether you meant it that way or not it is indicative of the PC crowd today. They have gradually taken Gen. Lee's name completely out of the hoiday. It used to be listed on the calendars as King/Lee day, now it is lised simply as MLK's b'day. Even the news has just about taken Gen. Lee completely out of the day. It is not PC to mention Gen. Lee today, what is it not going to be PC to mention tomorrow?

This reminds me of the old man who was asked one day how he was going to celebrate King/Lee day. To this he corrected the younger man and said, "Son, you are mistaken. Lee was not a king, he was only a general."
