Oh, I'm loving this. Jeffress, a prominent evangelical leader, is calling the current GOP front-runner's religion a cult. Jeffress is endorsing Perry and Perry doesn't have a shot in, well...hell of winning the Republican nomination.

Now's Obama's chance to wake up, take seriously and harness the power and anger of the 'Occupier' movement, and prepare to fight and win re-election.

Prominent evangelical leader Robert Jeffress told reporters at the Values Voter summit that Mormonism is a “cult” and that voting for former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney would “give credibility to a cult” -- a position he first took in the 2008 election.

Jeffress introduced Perry, calling him a “a committed follower of Christ.” Afterwards, he told reporters that he endorsed as an individual, and that he would not tell his church members how to vote. However, he's planning to give a sermon this Sunday in which he talks about “how a Christian should vote.” One of the criteria for candidates — “Is he a Christian?”

Many evangelicals, he said, were afraid to talk about Mormonism but would have a hard time voting for a Mormon candidate....

This could be the most delusional statement of the day.

Glad to see you ferrell.  We need some sane and logical comments here.

Any Baptist preacher who rises to the rank of "Pastor" of the First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas is considered a very big dog in the Baptist kennel.  He is indeed very prominent within Baptist circles and has made numerous appearances in the national media, mostly the conservative segment.  Here is his bio on that church's web site:

W.A. Criswell was a former pastor of that 10,000-member church.  He served two terms as President of the Southern Baptist Convention and was nationally known--even more so than Jeffress.  Another notable recent president from the Dallas church was Charles Stanley.  Stanley went through a difficult divorce about 20 years ago.  He still preaches on cable TV, peddling his heavily Calvinist doctrines, most particularly the bogus "once saved-always saved heresy.

The primary process is proceeding as it has for a century.  The detritus will fall out along the way. Most likely, Romney and Cain, will be the ticket.  The flop sweat you smell is democrat, not republican.  No problem with his Mormon roots -- he won't insist all the menfolk wear magic underwear.  Nor, will he try to bring back prohibition. Try to ban caffeine products and its a bet which branch of the military, or law enforcement takes him out first -- don't get in front of a policeman or a soldier and his coffee.

JFK didn't install the Pope as leader, either!

You're back; unfortunately, you didn't get any smarter in your absence. Dream on about any of the Republican clowns winning a national election.

I didn't think Obama was the right person for the job to begin with; I was 100% behind Hillary - who has the tenaciousness and experience to make a good president (she knows how to properly deal with criticism and how to fight, having dealt with it for years as First Lady).

But, unfortunately, she can't challenge Obama in 2012 because she won't get the backing she needs from her party to do so.

That leaves me with supporting either Obama or the GOP nominee.  Since I can't possibly vote for Romney, Perry, Cain or Bachmann, I have no choice but to support Obama.  In some situations, there's not a right decision to make, but a best decision (given the limited choices) to make.

Wishful, unrealistic thinking. No matter how much you hate him, you don't have anybody who can defeat him. And that's the truth.
