Don't mean to distract from the Obama bashing but this is pretty sad here:

http://www.boston.com/news/sou..._of_rolling_sto.html

Dzhohkar Tsarnaev, the suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing, is on the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine, along with an accompanying profile of the one-time UMass Dartmouth student who went to high school in Cambridge.

Late this morning, both Tedeschi Food Shops and CVS pledged not to carry the Rolling Stone issue in its stores.

On its Facebook page, CVS wrote:"CVS/pharmacy has decided not to sell the current issue of Rolling Stone featuring a cover photo of the Boston Marathon bombing suspect. As a company with deep roots in New England and a strong presence in Boston, we believe this is the right decision out of respect for the victims of the attack and their loved ones.

Why not buy it?

1. The mad bomber isn't getting any money from it. I understand it's a very comprehensive article on the man and his family.

2. Not all demons have horns and a bifurcated tail. If we think they do, then we're in for a sad surprise when we do face evil in our lives.

3. Don't you think one point of the RS cover was to make us realize we could have passed this young man on the street and not noticed anything out of the ordinary?

4. If we do feel this way, where was the outrage when Ronald Weems was given a hair cut and dressed in a nice suit for his murder trial?

5. If the mag has found a pic of him looking scruffy, don't you think there are those who would have complained over that?

Because they choose not to buy it, and still have that right.

You understand eh? From what source? Maybe people wouldn't agree with them.

Who needs the RS to tell us that?

 Here we go.

He does look scruffy.

As I've stated, and truthfully so, it's been over 20 years since I've purchased an RS. Why? One reason is Jann Wenner's refusal to take religious based ads. And he gets away with it!

The photo isn't new--it's an old one that they dug up somewhere. No biggie. Would it have been in better taste if the bomber had looked like Scotty Pippin (or anyone else whom someone might find extremely unattractive)?

The magazine isn't glorifying anything in this case. Their main article is about the bomber, so they put his pic on the cover. Again, I ask, would anyone care if he were ugly?

I'm very sure people would care. I don't find him attractive at all, what do looks matter except to idiots. I don't care what the "main" article is about,  I did see it was talking about how his parents, "failed" him. Of course they failed him, and so did his brother and all the other terrorists that were schooling/training him. Big deal, how many more are out there being "failed/trained". He could have objected, he didn't because he wanted to be a big bad terrorist and he made it. Now he can take what is coming to him, which hopefully is death. Swoon over him all you want, act just like too many of those little air headed teen girls that think he's "cute and sexy"  , it won't change the fact that he's a monster. Be sure to email and tell them to go easy on him cause he's so cute. The little boy he slaughtered was cute too.

Once again logic has failed you, Best. Nowhere do I say I find him cute. Neither do I find George Clooney cute, but I know that many find brunettes to be so. The point of the majority of these protests is, as the capt. pointed out, it's a picture of what many would consider an "All-American Boy," not some terrorist. Perhaps if RS placed some bars over the pic it would be more acceptable?

*IF* he were ugly? If meaning what?

_______

The way I see it is, if you ain't ugly, you cute.

His parents didn't fail him anymore than any radical muslim pos fails their kids. I'm sure they're proud of him. As to what he could have been, no more than what he is. Who failed who? Our country failed us by allowing them in, and using our tax money to support them and make it possible for him and his brother to do what they did. Let's not forget the three men he and his brother, along with their friend, slaughtered. Where's that friends family? Who's supporting them? How many more friends of theirs are here, and being funded by our taxes? That's the story I'm interested in.  Where's mom and dad now that they succeeded in sucking off of us to make a living while they raised and trained these two murdering pos? And the "best part", some of the family are still here, along with the murderers wife and kid that we'll most likely have to support now. So RS can just shove it as far as I'm concerned.

Why do you go to the trouble, spend the time and energy, reading/posting about things?  BTW, how long does it take you to read and type a response?

"Cover of Rollin’ Stone" ~ Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show.

...
Well, we're big rock singers
We got golden fingers
and we're loved everywhere we go
(That sounds like us)
We sing about beauty
and we sing about truth
at ten-thousand dollars a show (Right)
We take all kinds of pills
that give us all kind of thrills
but the thrill we'll never know
Is the thrill that'll getcha
when you get your picture
on the cover of the Rollin Stone

(Rollin' Stone)
Wanna see my picture on the cover (Stone)
Wanna buy five copies for my mother (Yes) (Stone) Wanna see my smilin' face
on the cover of the Rollin' Stone (That's a very, very good idea)

I got a freaky ole lady
name a cocaine Katy
who embroideries on my jeans
I got my poor ole grey haired daddy
drivin' my limousine
Now it's all designed to blow our minds
but our minds won't really be blown
Like the blow that'll getcha
when you get your picture
on the cover of the Rollin' Stone

(Rollin' stone)
Wanna see our pictures on the cover (Stone)
Wanna buy five copies for our mothers (Yeah) (Stone) Wanna see my smilin' face
on the cover of the Rollin' Stone
Hey (Sure enough)...

I know how, rock and roll
Ah, that's beautiful
We got a lot of little teenage
blue eyed groupies who do anything we say
We got a genuine Indian Guru who's teaching us a better way
We got all the friends that money can buy
so we never have to be alone (No)
And we keep getting richer
but we can't get our picture
on the cover of the Rollin' Stone

(Rollin' Stone)
Wanna see my picture on the cover (Stone)
Wanna buy five copies for my mother (I want one) (Stone) Wanna see my smilin' face
on the cover of the Rollin' Stone
On the cover of the Rollin'… (Stone (And us))
Wanna see my picture on the cover
(I don't know why we ain't on the cover, baby)
(Stone) Wanna buy five copies for my mother
(We're beautiful fellows) (Stone)
Wanna see my smilin' face
On the cover of the Rollin Stone

"iconic you say"??? I've never had a copy of it in my hand. Growing up I had  copies of Scientific American in mine.
