This video has nothing to do with Ron Paul!
True. It has nothing at all to do with Ron Paul. I saw that video a year ago.
But it DID make me cry again.
It has everything to do with Ron Paul's committed, unwavering, uncompromising anti-war stance.
Renegade, to connect Ron Paul to this video makes the viewer think that Ron Paul was responsible for these reunions. That is neither accurate, nor honest. If the video had said, "Ron Paul believes reunions like these should happen for all our servicepeople", that would have been one thing. But the way the video stands, I think it would cause more distrust of Paul than otherwise. It is nothing more than "spin", and if Paul is not responsible for this video circulating, I would think he would be better off with his supporters if he spoke about it, rather than letting its misleading message stand.
OBama should make Ron Paul Secretary of Defense. The anti-war contingent of the libs and the libertarians would strongly back a 2nd term.

You are certainly a nitty little fella aren't you...
Nope, not a nitty little fellow, an ethical little gal.

Fixed it for you.
If you're calling the video uneithical, you are certainly reaching...The video is...not a parody...but just something to grab attention with a provocative title and then hopefully get people to think. If you want to replace Ron Paul with Dennis Kucinich, be my guest.
Pardon me for spreading anti-war "propaganda"...I gues I should be on the look out for armed drones...
Renegade, let me ask you something. If it were a Democrat who were used in this video, wouldn't you have a problem with it? Let's say Obama had opened that video the way Paul did. Now let's say this video came out BEFORE the 2008 election. Wouldn't you be jumping on the misleading, dishonest premise of this video just as hard as I am now? You KNOW you would.
And you know what? So would I. THAT'S what I mean by ETHICAL. An ethical person decries dishonesty from ANY source - even one whose candidacy they support.
More "propaganda"
I don't get the title of the video. How did Ron Paul made a little girl cry? Obviously Ron wasn't responsible for these kids and their parents being separated. The quotes from him indicate he would prefer that they were not separated. Shenanigans!

Ron Pauls anti-war efforts brought some troops home, resulting in crying by youngsters.

OK, I guess it's not as obvious as I thought it was.
I didn't produce the video, I just came across it. The title making me click on it...How could such a kindly old gentleman ever make a little girl cry?...It's not a "news" video or anything like that...just meant to make you think.
If you notice in the very beginning RP says something to the effect "I'd just bring them home"...and of course that would lead to reunions...cue the tears...
Silly video, silly post...feel free to ignore.
Ah. For some reason, I thought you (RN) were not a Ron Paul fan and I was having a problem understanding how this was unflattering to him. That would be because it's not. Duh moment on my part.
BUT, RN, you never answered my question. If someone had put that same video up but with Obama or Hillary in the opening, wouldn't you think it was bogus and misleading?

Well yes I would...but not for the same reasons you call this video "bogus"...It would be bogus because both Obama and Hillary are as big warmongers as Bush/Cheney.
Worse actually since they...for some (bogus) reason...have the "re****tion" for supporting peace...
Hmmm....
re****tion rep u ta tion
Oh well...known for.
OK, RN, it looks like you had better go back and edit that post you "corrected". It's obvious that if "your guy" is in the middle of a dishonest video, that's OK with you. But THIS little girl IS ethical.

OK, this is really a stupid disagreement we are having and I guess I should just let it go...but I honestly (no pun intended) do not know what you mean by "in the middle of a dishonest video".
As far as I know, the video was not produced by the "official" RP campaign. It's just a youtube video that illustrates RP's anti-war stance...that's all...really. No hidden agenda...
The only thing I can figure is that RP has the high moral ground when it comes to a true anti-war stance...something "your guy" (or gal) doesn't stand up to well against...and that's got your shorts in a bind...
Hey, sorry about that but Barry is pretty much the same duplicitous, chameleon politician (except you know who) as the rest of them...

I agree that this is pointless. I think you will see if you read what I posted earlier, that I never implied that it was any kind of official video. That's why I said that Paul should speak up about it, make clear to everyone that he had nothing to do with it.
As far as "my guy" or "my gal", yes, Obama did run as a candidate for peace. But because of the mess over there in the Middle East, and the potential for even more terrorist training there, he decided we had better stay awile TO PROTECT OUR BEST INTERESTS. If he had brought ALL of our soldiers home and then there were another attack on this country, you'd be the first one to blame Obama. And I'd be willing to bet that McCain, or Ron Paul would have come to the same conclusions that Obama did.
Remember, none of us, nor the candidates, are privy to all of the information the president has. Obama didn't know any of the top secret info as a candidate that he knows now. IF Ron Paul were to be elected, HE TOO would have to change some of his ideas.
