The initiative in Poland commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birthday of Ronald Reagan … has been a civic action directed to all those who are close to the values adhered to by President Reagan and who appreciate his undeniable contribution to the overthrow of communism and the recovery of freedom. Our goal is to pay homage and express gratitude to President Ronald  Reagan using the 100th birthday anniversary to remind public opinion in Poland of his character, his achievements, and his ideals, to which he was faithful.

We invite everyone to testify in the Memorial Book, which after closing will be printed and sent to the Ronald Reagan Library in the United States.

The Soviet Union was well on its way to collapse when Reagan became President.  The timing of his presidency coincided with the collapse, but the juxtaposition of those factors does not demonstrate a cause and effect relationship.  Post hoc, ergo propter hoc does NOT apply here!

Reagan and scheming weasels in his defense department produced tons of bogus and inflated information on Soviet military capability and then used those lies to expand U.S. military spending to unnecessarily high levels.  They constructed a  fabric of LIES that has been fully exposed in the excellent and comprehensive work by Tom Gervasi, "Soviet Military Power."

Both the Poles and Czechs  honored Reagan for their liberation.  I'll take their word over that of a work is still surmise as much of the information is still classified.

Fortunately, I don't have to take just their word.  I've talked to the former officers of the Soviet military, seen the massive, if rusting military machinery that once was the pride of the Soviet military.

Finally, I'll take the word of survivors of the Politburo who stated that Reagan's efforts definitely caused them to realize they could not continue as they had.  No way could they match the US effort.

Reagan is still so loathed by the left they will go to any end to vilify him.

Obama is so loathed by the right they will go to any end to vilify him. There. I fixed it for you.

This thread has nothing to do with Obama. Did you look at your "Big Brother Barry" footies crumpled up in the floor and get inspired to type?

If not for the Poles, much of western civilization would not exist.  Three times, King John Sobieski marched his small army against the Turks, when they were at the gates of Vienna.

When  Lenin sent the Red Army against the Germans, when the German army was in revolt, the Poles were supposed to be a speed bump.  That speed bump sent the Red Army back to the USSR in defeat.

So much for bigoted Polish jokes.
