Jimi Hendrix said: 'Scuse me while I kiss the sky
Others have said: 'Scuse me while I eat my pie.
'Scuse me while I fist this guy.
'Scuse me while I can't get high.
'Scuse me while I kick this guy.
'Scuse me while I kiss this fly.
'Scuse me while I zip my fly.
screw me while I eat these fries.

and the list goes on and on and on. I have a friend who never heard lyrics right. Duran Duran had a song "The Reflex".
The lyric went: I'll cross that bridge when I find it

She would sing:I'll cuss that biitch when I find it

So, what misheard lyrics have you sang or heard other folks sing? And - are you watching The Singing Bee on NBC? I think it is a pretty good show.
It's the end of the world as we know it. It's the end of the world as we know it. It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

I'm liking the show on NBC.

My most embarrassing song mix up was pointed out to me by my husband.

The song: JOSE CUERVO

The correct lyric:
Jose Cuervo, you are a friend of mine.
I like to drink you with a little salt and lime,

What I'd sing:
Jose Cuervo, you are a friend of mine.
I'd like to drink you in a little softer light,

uh, yeah. I also would fudge the lyrics to Footloose pretty bad.

Heh, funny one my stepdaughter did when she was 3 years old.

"I'll give you tall hall trees and all the minnows in the sea, I'm a fool fool fool for you"

She went around singing that herself all day, so I had to tell her it was "I'll give you tall tall trees and the water in the sea" She was embarassed and asked me why I didn't tell her already... lol
I had a high school English teacher who had been around for quite some time (and let's face it, at this point, so have I). She once told our class of her former co-worker, a history teacher, who couldn't understand why young people would like a song about the Crimea River. For those who might not know, the song was (albeit before my time) Cry Me a River.
