Members of a tiny, wacky Amish spin-off cult invaded a man's home and forcibly shaved off his beard on the claim that, "They changed the rulings of our church here, and they're trying to force their way down our throat, make us do like they want us to do, and we're not going to do that." The cult leader also reportedly said that he "... should be allowed to punish people who break the laws of the church, just as police are allowed to punish people who break the laws of the state."

The case clearly has analogies with Sharia Law, since Muslims assert the same basis for imposing Sharia punishments on members of their faith. The paranoid right-wing nutjobs who, with no basis whatsoever, allege that Sharia Law is a threat to this country, should take note. Just as this "Amish" throwback did not get away with kidnapping and assault, Muslims in this country attempting to use Sharia Law to commit offenses banned by our civil and criminal laws can expect to be prosecuted.
Get over it. The baseless paranoia over the alleged prospect of Sharia Law taking hold in this country has no more credibility than the silly claims of "birthers" and the crackpot, dumber-than-dumb assertions that the President of the United States is a Muslim.
