Eagle Pass, Texas, has been completely overrun by hundreds of thousands of illegal vagrants, causing at least one business owner to cash in her chips after five break-ins.

The Wagon Wheel, a local barbeque joint, was already staggering under the effects of a federal-government left-hook – the Covid shutdown. Then came the haymaker from that same federal government – a wide open border.

With an official population this year of 28,506, Eagle Pass is situated in the Del Rio area, where 375,000 migrant encounters have been recorded since October 2021. That is a swarm – an invading force thirteen times the local population.

It’s almost as if the feds want small businesses to go under. A military invasion couldn’t be any more effective at subduing a town.

Selena Buentella Price was the second-generation owner of The Wagon Wheel.

“I worked alongside my father for 19 years,” said Price. All during that time plus the first six years of her proprietorship, the restaurant had 1 break-in. “One break-in in 25 years,” she said.

In the past eight months, though, there have been five break-ins.

“From February to now, I’ve had five,” said Price. “Not only has my business been broken into and ransacked—it’s just the insecurity now, you don’t feel safe at home anymore.”

People used to immigrate (legally) to the United States with a recognizable plan for where to go and what to do. Now there is no plan. It is easy to see why they are happy to get on buses and go somewhere that doesn’t have as many migrants competing for food and shelter.

Price described what it’s like in Eagle Pass in 2022, with migrants arriving and looking for shelter and supplies in vacant buildings. Because her restaurant was closed from the effects of the Covid shutdown, migrants were breaking in. Her business went from a break-in rate of 0.003 per month to .625 per month, which is 208 times the frequency. The math was easy enough to cause Price to throw in the towel, selling her business at a depreciated price.

“Two locations down from our original location, our smokehouse and our honky-tonk, we have this facility that assists in processing all these immigrants coming in,” Price told Fox News.

We hear that word a lot in relation to illegal crossings – ‘processed’. As in, “Border towns are struggling to ‘process’ thousands of migrants every day.” But processing is really not the worry of border town citizens.  ‘Processing’ is a way to record the presence of another alien in the country. After that, they are on their own.

“Once they are processed — I literally see busloads on a daily basis — they’re just released and they find sanctuary in anything that’s abandoned or not,” she said. “What I had that I valued — that not only had sentimental value but had actual monetary value — has depreciated thanks to the mess, the trash, the vandalism.”

But Selena Price still lives in Eagle Pass, feeling the devastating effects of Biden’s border policy. Her 126-acre ranch is like a commando zone with activity every day.

“I’ve got pictures of our game cams catching more immigrants than I did wildlife,” she said.

“Years prior to this opening of the borders, we used to see maybe five immigrants a month,” Price said. “As soon as those borders opened … there was movement every single day.”

Having sold her business, the consequences continued. Price had to sell her horses and cattle, too. Illegals had been cutting through her fences, which allowed livestock to escape.

“I was forced because I couldn’t maintain my fences quick enough,” she said “They were being damaged every other day.”

Tonight, Price and her 29-year-old daughter will again settle down to try and sleep, with pistols at the ready.

“You’re worried because you think of the worst-case scenarios,” Price said. “And that takes your peace.”

“Our security as we know it is gone,” she summarized.

In El Paso, another border town, the Democrat mayor has recently started busing migrants to other cities, just trying to survive the overwhelming sea of humanity.

President Biden has been critical of border governors “playing politics” by busing migrants north. Forget the fact that federal agents have been flying them around in the wee hours to cities of Biden’s choice. Nothing to see here. No, the point is Republican governors are the bad ones.

The business owner had developed a habit of daily early-morning surveillance of her buildings.

“I’m so scared that they’re going to steal something that was a family heirloom of mine and depreciate the value even more by rummaging through my stuff and breaking that building,” she said.

One night, she reportedly encountered one of the break-in perpetrators and called the police. The criminal fled before help arrived.

“So, I decided to finally sell my family business,” Price sadly reported.

Desperation met stupidity on the corner of bad luck and despair, and the democratic party was born.
