Shiloh has a living history event each year usualy the first week of april to coinside with the actual battle on I think the 6th and 7th, which takes place in the park, and not a re-enactment. I did not attend, but I think the re-enactment was not on the park itself. You can still attend the living history event next month.

Go nads has some great pics from a Shiloh re-enactment which took place this March. ??!! huh?? I missed it!! Was anything about it in the paper? If not, why?? Someone said it wasn't even on their (Shiloh) website. And usually these things are in April, why now in March? Confused

OH MY!!! Skyryder, you have one of the most beautiful AVATAR's I have EVER seen!!! BEAUTIFULLLLLL!!!!!!

Sorry, off topic, but got sidetracked, lol... I absolutely LOVE Shiloh, but illnesses kept me away from it this time!!! I have been there MANY times!!!
There was apparently some logistical problem with the location of the scheduled re-enactment this coming weekend...property owners not coming through as promised for the location, or something like that. Anyway...there are still events planned this coming weekend, the originally scheduled date. I'm not sure how much battle re-enacting will occur, but there should be lots to see and do if you want to go up there!
thanks for the info Nikon. I talked to a guy who lives in Savannah, and he said he didn't know about it until the ground started to shake!
Maybe I can find out exactly what, when, and where things are going on. The living history is interesting, but I like watching the full action! My great grandfather was 10 when the battle took place, and it is told he could hear the rummble of the cannons coming down the river. I bet it was a terrifying thing...

I'm involved in the reenactment. It's this weekend.
Todays events went as scheduled. I guess there was 125 reenactors there i suppose. Cavalry, Artillery and infantry demonstrations took place along with a field hospital and confederate camp. I enjoyed it. The park service will not allow there to be a full reenactment on the battlefield. Only living histories are permitted. The one that happened a couple weeks ago took place about 10 miles south of the battlefield.
