ATLANTA (AP) - Federal authorities said Wednesday they arrested six illegal immigrants who had security badges that gave them access to the tarmac and other restricted areas at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested the men, all Mexicans employed by T.C. Drywall Inc., as they reported to work at the airport Wednesday, agency spokesman Marc Raimondi said.

Immigration officials said the men had been hired recently to install drywall inside the airport's secure area. They will appear before an immigration judge and face deportation to Mexico.

We welcome you to fly the friendly skys and feel safe. You can trust that your government is on top of the nations security. ( ya right)

The TSA strikes again!!! I feel so much better knowing that those bozos are on the job. Let me guess what happens next....TC Drywall will receive a verbal slap on the wrist and maybe a little fine, the illegals we send back to Mexico will be crawling back over the border within a month and honest, law-abiding US citizens will suffer at airport security checkpoints with increased strip searches and body cavity searches of 80 year old grannies carrying nail files while the real threats to our country are welcomed with open arms by the Democrats and their illegal alien amnesty programs and voter registration drives. Anyone up for a good, old fashioned revolution yet????? Anyone??
I can't believe the ignorance that abounds. I believe that all illegal immigrants be sent home, but our government needs to pass and enforce tough laws that would ensure that they stay there. The ease that these people have getting into this country scares me, because if anyone can get in this easy-so can the terrorists. Which leads me back to my first statement-ignorance-people flying the confederate flag and saying the south will rise again. Don't you realize that the confederates seceded from and fought against the United States of America-which makes them terrorists.

Actually, one of those armies did wage war on civilians. You should read up on Sherman sometime.
Slavery had everything to do with the war.Southerners try to make it into something else, just to make excuses for their prejudices.Yes, I am a yankee and I'm here to stay.
When people have problems with their country they have elected people to speak up for them. They don't fight against their own country.
I really have problem with prejudice, because my children are half Mexican.Their father was born here, his father was born here, his father was born here and so on. One of their ancestors even fought in the civil war on the southerners side. But when the people down here see my children they automatically think they are illegal aliens, and treat them with prejudice. In my opinion they are more American then most people(with the exception of the the American Indian), because their earliest ancestors were born in this country and have never lived in what we now consider Mexico.

Slavery was an issue, but I can assure you the reasons for the war were a lot more complicated than that one issue. The people the South elected to represent them were the ones who voted to leave the union. They were the ones who organized an army, formed a new government, and became a separate country. They were well within their right to do so due to the circumstances at the time. I don't have the time to type out a history lesson, but you should really do some more research on this issue and try to see it from the Southern point of view.
Slavery was an issue brought into the War of Northern Agression by the NORTH. As in all things, history is written by the winners, not the losers, so everyone who just swallows the party line believes that the South fought the war to maintain slavery. The South fought the war to keep the Northern states from riding roughshod over us, treating us like children and telling us what to do. What most people don't realize is that the Northern states threatened to secede from the Union at least twice before the South ever did. The only reason the North did not secede was that they were placated and petted to keep them in the Union because of their industrial infrastructure. When the South seceded, they weren't begged to come back because it was thought (ingnorance again) that the nation could easily manage without the textiles and tobacco that the South brought to the national equation. If you bother to really look at history, only a tiny portion of the people in the South owned slaves...98% of the citizens of the South were too poor to own slaves. My family has been in the South since way before the WoNA and NEVER once owned slaves. We worked our own fields and sweated our own lives away, thank you very much. You also might want to check out the number of people in the North who not only OWNED slaves, but profited greatly by returning run away Southern slaves to their masters once those runaways reached the "free North". I suppose for some people it's just easier to float down the stream with the popular current than to think for themselves and do a little mental work.
March 1861 -- Lincoln's Inauguration.

At Lincoln's inauguration on March 4, the new president said he had no plans to end slavery in those states where it already existed, but he also said he would not accept secession. He hoped to resolve the national crisis without warfare.

April 1861 -- Attack on Fort Sumter.

When President Lincoln planned to send supplies to Fort Sumter, he alerted the state in advance, in an attempt to avoid hostilities. South Carolina, however, feared a trick; the commander of the fort, Robert Anderson, was asked to surrender immediately. Anderson offered to surrender, but only after he had exhausted his supplies. His offer was rejected, and on April 12, the Civil War began with shots fired on the fort. Fort Sumter eventually was surrendered to South Carolina.

January 1863 -- Emancipation Proclamation.
In an effort to PLACATE the slave-holding border states, Lincoln resisted the demands of radical REPUBLICANS for complete abolition.

Another little known fact among todays LIBERALS is that the democratic party was the party of SLAVERY. Oh my gosh don't look so supprised Eeker

Smiler
The North had just begun their infant industries...the South was buying machinary from England and other European countries...Lincoln began placing large tariffs on the incoming goods so as to force the South to buy the equipment from the North...Lincoln also wanted to rid slavery from the 27% or so of the southerners who had slaves...he allowed the border states, such as Maryland to keep theirs, afraid if he took their slaves ...they would eventually join the rest of the secession...slavery was not the issue...Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation 3 years after the war began so as to give more blacks a reason to fight....the South already had a strong legion of black soldiers fighting the North...the average black soldier was fighting for a way of life that had nothing to do with slavery.....however, slavery was increased after the invention of the cotton gin...
moondancer..yore bread aint done.....dont let yo mouth overload your ass....you have absolutely no idea of what you speak...best be able to back up what you say or people gonna think yore a carpetbagger...my great-great-great grandfather was the last confederate soldier to die from Lauderdale County...he never saw a black man until he joined the confederacy..he was fighting the "war of northern aggression" and would shove his 58 up some unmentionable canal of yorn were he still around....
I really don't care what the war was fought over. The point is the south lost. This is now the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Why can't everyone move on?The whites don't like it when the blacks think we owe them something just because their ancestors were slaves and the blacks don't like to be constently reminded that their ancestors were slaves by all the confederate flag waving. Why can't all Americans of all colors and nationalites unite to keep out ALL illegal aliens of every color and nationality? And to remember that all people of mexican descent are not illegal aliens!
Touche-Elijah!Thank all of you for the history lesson!

People don't wave a confederate flag or say "the south's going to rise again" to aggravate African Americans. It the REBEL flag, not the "insult African Americans" flag. It Southern pride or a way to express a rebellious nature. I'm sure there are nimrods out there that are an embarrassment to Southerners, but to the majority of Southerners, African Americans have nothing to do with waving a confederate flag or the term "the south's going to rise again".

As to joining together to demand that immigrants enter our country legally and not be allowed to disregard the law, I think everyone here agrees with you.
