Nah, it'll be cool! You'll be able to listen to Radio Moscow on your car radio-and about 50 other stations simultaneously. CB will become a chaotic nightmare, forget shortwave-Only CW stands a chance of getting through the noise.
All those GPS and Direct TV satellites launched in the 80s/early 90s without any hardening are gonna get pounded out of existence by induced electrical currents.
'Tucky fried birds.

Basically anything terrestrial without a faraday cage around it's entire system is gonna have some major problems.

This cycle promises to be a good one.

It happened back then. Before that so-called solar storm era; CB radio back in the 70's worked great. You could talk skip over several hyndred miles. Even without any help, (linears), you could talk 25, 30 muiles or more. Then when it happened you were lucky to talk 5 miles. Solar storms do happen and they have strange effects on communications. Not sure how they will affect satillites but it is something to think about!
