We're fine, no damage. Thanks for checking in, I appreciate it.

The tornado came very close, maybe within about two miles or less. I was at the office in Nashville when it hit, but a friend called to warn me and I called my wife who was at home. She already had Lucy and was in the hall bathroom. It hit shortly afterwards. She said it was loud, but not as bad as a couple of years ago when the house took damage.

I had to stay late at work, traffic was clear by the time I got on I-24. However, once I got on my exit I could see lots of limbs and debris around. Power was out and every red light had a cop directing traffic. The road I usually take home was blocked by police, so I had to take a back route.

I didn't see any homes destroyed where we live. I've heard that quite a few were leveled and about a hundred or so took damage. Lots of people were injured and unfortunately two fatalities.

The area it hit is populated, but not as dense as other areas. If it hit a mile or two farther south were we are things would have been much worse. Rutherford County has an excellent emergency management agency and the community has been stepping up to help, so we'll be back to normal soon.
