ShugaPush-all police may not treat everyone equally, but that is not what this story is about. It was actually about if the woman hung herself or if it was murder. Did you even read the article or get on here to belittle me?

TAMARA-copy and past my sentence into Microsoft Word and use spell check. I used the word correctly in this sentence. Why do you care about people's grammar anyway? If you want to go around pointing fingers-make sure your hands are clean!

I have had 2 different family members commit suicide.

I have read extensively about suicide and how to cope with the aftermath, etc. I have never heard of anyone committing the act in such an "open" manner. If someone is SERIOUS about suicide, they would hide. Simply because someone would mess up their plan. Someone would call for help or try and talk them out of it. If someone is THAT distraught to take their life, they wouldn't do it in a "commons" area.

For her body to be hanging from a random tree outside in a "common" area seems to be obviously a homicide made to look like a suicide.

Of course, a small town would rarely have to deal with suicides and especially mysterious ones, so I could see how the MSPD would not have "experience" in dealing with mysterious cases as this.

Her feet hanging that close to the ground sounds like she was already dead and just hung in the tree to appear as a suicide.

Sounds like the PD was just completely blind-sided and baffled.

Poor girl. And I agree with Firenze. I THINK, I read in the original posted article that she was a nursing student?!? (can't remember exactly) IF she was studying nursing, she would probably have been able to find "easier" "less painful" methods to take her own life, such as taking something....

Hanging from a tree?

It just SCREAMS homicide.

Even though one of my relatives was obviously depressed and every single indication was suicide, the town's PD was very ineffective and "slow" at bringing the case to a close.

The other death was not so cut and dry. It very easily could have been accidental and even a possible homicide. Not enough evidence pointed to strictly suicide, but ultimately was ruled that way.

t's just easier to rule a case suicide because only the victim knows the motive and police don't HAVE to determine much of anything related to a motive, unlike a homicide. It's very easy to just say "Depression=Suicide. Case Closed".

Especially if there are few facts. I can imagine how overwhelmed police could be, but it's still no excuse to give up on bringing closure to a family. I couldn't sleep at night if I had any possible doubt that a person might have been murdered or even some kind of freak accident happened.

Sad case. It's so sad for that poor girl.

Let me say this first; It is very sad for any one that has to go though the loss of a loved one, and my heart goes out to those that have been though this.

This is a fact, We can not predict anything that a human being does! suicide is a awful thing, and there can be no study done on this, therefore all the studies done are just guess' and that is all. I have seen several of these things happen and to this day, no 2 are alike, some people just reach out for help in a open way, and some just reach out but no one ever sees it. until after the fact, and by no means and am I saying that this is a fact. just my opinion. there are all kinds of rumors floating around out there; like a woman will never shoot herself, < proven wrong! Again the only fact that stands true today is that we CAN NOT predict what people will do, no one can read someone else's mind. and never will be able too. You say that the police was overwhelmed, even in a small town people are still the same, and no matter where you live, the only difference is the amount of people there. people still think the same. in a bigger city, a person may do something because he doesn't think he will get caught because of the amount of people there. I am sure in this case that there was as much Investigation put in to it, not because of anything that you would say or anyone else here would say, but for the loved ones of this girl. and you mentioned that the PD was slow to rule a case a suicide when it was a cut and dry suicide, then that would mean to me that they looked at every aspect of it, before ruling. I am sure that everything was done in this case to bring closure to the family, and I am very sorry to hear about any loss that you have encountered.

people will continue to do the same things over and over again, until the end of time. and there will no way to stop any of this. And I will say it again, you can hang yourself by sitting down, or standing up, or even lying on your back. I have even seen one were the guy was sitting on a park bench like he was taking a nap, and had hung himself. I am going now to watch a show on CSI! everyone have a lovely day.
