It was the FCC during the Clinton era that changed advertising regulations. Something else that happened during Clinton's term was the Telecommunication's act of '96. Thanks to that, there are less locally owned media outlets and more national conglomerates. Now instead of having a local DJ talking to you, you get a pre-recorded announcer coming from satellite. Clear Channel, NYT, and other huge media companies have gotten even bigger because of that. So who says the Democrats don't support big business?
