When I quit a fierce smoking habit about a quarter of a century ago, I was paying $3.33 per CARTON in Kentucky and the Carolinas. I quit cold turkey and carried an unopened pack in my shirt pocket for about six weeks after I quit, kept my lighter for nearly a year. My reasoning was to keep from panicking, have them available but stay in control. In all honesty, I should tell you that people who had begged me to quit begged me to start again within that first six weeks (guess I was harder to get along with.. Wink).

my dad quit that way after smoking for 20+ years. he gained some weight and lost it after a while. he was so strong willed! sometimes i think everything worked for dad because he WILLED it to! Big Grin
TBG, I took thirty days for "mental preparation" and developing my game plan. I sat and looked at that little white tube of paper with a dried up weed inside and just knew that I could win...and I never met a cigarette I didn't like.

I have never missed smelling like an ash tray, never missed the burned holes in my ties, suits, seat covers,etc... And now I look at people with smoke coming out of their nose and mouth and that weed hanging in their lips and the whole scenario looks pretty dumb to me..

The battle is won or lost right there between your ears...you really don't need meds, you need a plan.
