The Big Switch

Got DishNet here , but got the boxes for my Mom (who also has Dish, but gets the local stations on air) and my place down on the coast where I get on air when I'm too lazy to take the dish box.

When channel 48 did the test a few minutes ago I got a message that said my set was not ready for the switch. According to what I've read and been told, if you have satellite, which I do (Dish Network) or cable you're good to go. The satellite receiver has a built in digital transmitter. Oh well, I hope it works in February.

Bo! Just go to Wal-Mart and buy you a Christmas Present. From what I hear they need alot of help and support. Target and Best Buy are blowing them away.

I have Direct TV and had no problems but my elderly aunt has Dish Network had hers on Ch. 19 and she got the message also and didn't see a picture. I went on Ch. 19 and did the Chat with the Ditital person and he/she said Dish Network would be ok so who knows why you still got the message.

This issue has been so over played by the broadcast media that it has grown tiresome. You would think the world was coming to an end with all the publicity they are giving it. I switched to digital HD almost a year ago.

jmbo you don't need to buy a converter since you don't use over the air television. The reason you saw the message is because Dish Network is still using the analog signal to broadcast the station. But before February they will have it fixed. They are working on this in every market so there will be a few that have been missed.

I have Dish network , seen the test 2 days ago , said I was fine .
