has anyone else had issues with their new store on florence blvd?
we've been there about 7 times in the last couple months, and each time they never have the cream cheese croisants my wife so desperatly loves.

usually it's because 'they didn't have the oven' or 'they ran out' already' but this morning it was ' oh, we didn't make any of those today.

this was after she sat at the menu board for 2 minutes wiating, and then heard ' please pull around'.

she said "are you sure? i haven't ordered yet." and got no response.

she pulled around and waited on the two cars at the window. when she got her turn at the window, the girl opened it and said 'did you order something?'

my wife said ' no, you told me to pull around.'

the girl laughed and told her her she was sorry, it's been really busy and asked for her order.
my wife asked for 4 apple fritters and 4 cream cheese croisants, and was told they didn't make any croisants today.
my wife said a very bad phrase, with roughly would translate as 'oh sexual intercourse this fecal matter." and drove off.

has any one else had this kinds of issues at the florence location, or are we just getting repeatedly unlucky?

her big issue is, if it's not going to be a regular item, make a note of that... " croisants avalible only mon wed fri 6-9" or soemthing... or take it off the menu so people can stop wasteing the time trying to get something you don't ever have.
(and we can stop wasting our time with the new location and drive to the main store instead.)

Haven't been to the new store, but have only had good experiences with the original store. Except for the time they told me they stopped serving the chocolate icing on the side in a little cup w/ a lid. I enjoyed dipping the donut holes in the chocolate (like choc covered donut holes.. lol) I didn't get mad and spew out obscenities, but just expressed my disappointment. The next time I came through, the lady recognized me and said, "Pssst... you want some extra chocolate?"
I think the donut shop is MUCH better than KK.
Krispy Kreme needs some new workers as their service leaves much to be desired. Many I've heard complain about their stopping the giving away of a free glazed doughnut to customers but from what I saw I wasn't surprised. I'd see, at times, a large van of people pull up and each of the 14 people would get out and request a free doughnut yet purchase nothing in return. Then there would be two car loads of teens pull up and do the same thing yet no one purchased anything in return. No business can continue to operate like that so I don't blame them for stopping that practice. If a customer want's to sample a doughnut and make a purchase that's one thing but people were taking advantage of it far too often.
I remember it being around $5.00. My daughter bought one once to take back to Birmingham for her office's Christmas party. It was a tremendous hit. They were very disappointed to find that it was a 2 hour drive to get one. I used to pick up one on the way to my dentist's office for his staff to have for morning break. It was always a big hit. Won't pay $15.00 for one though.
Love Donut shop donuts, but they get such a bad attitude when you want to order a larger quantity than just 1 or 2. I quit going there because of that, and just went to Wal-Mart. Such a shame. I wanted to support a local business, but they acted like they didn't want me there. Wal-Mart was more than happy to supply me with 6 dozen glazed donuts. They didn't care if they had to make more
I have been to The Donut Shoppe in Florence several times and have had nothing but pleasant experience. The Drive-thru speaker is hard to hear on the inside of the shop so they ask you to pull around at the window. Just like any fast food restaurant you do have to wait at the window while the person inside is at the counter. As far as Mickey Cullpepper's products he makes some things but does not run his bakery out of the donut shop as people think he does. The donuts are made daily, they do run out of things due to quantity made. If you call ahead they can make sure your request is taken care of. They have a new store and new people, give it a chance to grow and bloom before throwing it out the window. The store in Muscle Shoals has been there for quite sometime and now there is one in Florence. If you have a complaint take it up with management before bad mouthing on the internet. Florence could use another donut shop besides Krispy Kreme.
To the person who wanted to buy 6 dozen donuts from The Donut Shoppe in Florence. The donuts are made daily, the makers come in at 1am to make the donuts, these are not made through out the day. IF you call ahead they will make you as many donuts you want to order. I am sure that you were offended that your request was not given, try the donut shoppe again and ask in advance for your large order and they will be happy to make sure your order is filled. This is not a big facility like walmart were they do make donuts more than once.
Sorry you felt unwelcome, this is not how that business is run!
I will tell you exactly why I am bad mouthing on the internet. When I came in to purchase 6 doz. donuts (a reasonable qty I thought) The lady at the counter got very irate, and told me I had to order ahead for such a large qty. These donuts were for my customers, and I really resented they way she spoke to me. I told her I was sorry I inconvenienced her (she was one of the owners), and I promptly drove to Wal-Mart where I puchased 6 doz. donuts and was thanked by the door greeter as I walked out. Customers actually remarked how good the donuts were from Wal-Mart. I can't always order ahead, but would have been ok if not given such an attitude by the owner. I'll never be back

Lets see, you wanted to purchase 6 dozen doughnuts. Doesn't that make YOU the Customer? Not only a customer also but a much desired customer because of the large orders.

Maybe they should think to put up a sign stating that large orders (and define just what large orders are) should be called in ahead.

One can understand your frustration and anger especially if this person was owner or management of the place I know I stopped by the Donut shop the other morning to get an Apple Fritter and it was one of the best I' have had. Stopped by Krispy Kreme and got a dozen doughnuts the other week and thought ... man what's changed. The taste on the Krispy Kreme's was not what it used to be. Don't know how often I'll return to there but Donut Shop seems to be on top of their game. Sounds like someone at the counter messed up in the customer relation area.

Just made a trip to the Florence Donut Shop this morning and noticed the sign out front advertising "New Owners" and that the store has been taken over by the owners of the Muscle Shoals Store.  Sure enough the owner of the Muscle Shoals store was in the business and has been for the last two weeks.  Hopefully this will solve some of the issues that people have had with the management and employees of the Florence Location since they opened.

Another benefit of the new owners was a great sale going on.  I was able to pick up a dozen glazed for $5.00 and at Krispy Kreme that same purchase will set you back over $7.00.  I don't know how long that sale is on but the new manager hopes she can turn a higher volume than the Muscle Shoals store does.  As for the product it tasted just as good as the ones I've had from the Muscle Shoals store so quality seems to be the same.
