This is what scares me about people voting.

Hopefully the uninformed voters will stay home. A lot of good turning out for Obama did.
The president's reelection campaign launched a new voter registration and grassroots organizing program Thursday aimed at boosting turnout and participation among its core supporters.
The organization, called Project Vote, will try to increase involvement from voters who helped Obama win the White House in 2008, including young voters, seniors, blacks, Hispanics, American Indians and ghays and lesbyans.
Good, with the expected unemployment rate, they'll vote Republican.

We could only wish, Obummer will promise some more freebies and the libs will flock to the polls.

Yeah, the usual nonthinking voters who think that all one needs for prosperity are a few platitudes from the elected four-year-god and then Helicopter Bernanke and the Good Faerie (Barney Frank) will appear and shower the faithful with freshly minted green. The world will then be filled with puppies and unicorns and the world will be free from jobs and oppressive rich people.
In 2008, 63% of registered voters cast a ballot in the election. 98.6% of those voted for Obama or McCain. This puts the "informed voter" estimate at roughly 38% - those who either stayed home or voted for someone else. I expect this trend to continue.

Dolomite,
For me it's Ron Paul or bust. I will not vote for Perry and I will not vote Obama. i will be one of those staying home.
Staying home seems to be the national religion. We elect these bozos and send them to DC. For some of them this is the first time they have ridden in something that is not John Deere. They are overwhelmed by all the attention they get and then they forget why they were elected. We have to find a way to make them keep their word. If they ran on a certain principle, they **** well better stick to that principle. How do we control them???Maybe by not paying them until their term is over and then have some auditors check to see how they voted/or didn't and pay them accordingly. I know we will never have sincere and honest politicians, but one can hope//?????
Term limits -- three or four for the House and two for the Senate. That way they don't become too embedded in the DC mindset, or too dependent upon K St lobbyists.
