FreeForums.org offers one template, and Forumotion.com offers four templates, with different options. That sight states that once one is set up, the admin can change to one of the other three, but I have no idea if any info would be lost in some cases.
3. I will say this, Forumotion calls the one who starts a forum a "founder." I had questioned whether a founder could totally delete a forum once the admin duties had been handed over. Now we know the answer to that little question.
4. If being a founder is so very important, you need to choose carefully whom you put in that position. I'm about to get hit with a wet noodle here, but if I were to choose, I would pick Joy. She's honest and she's going to be fair.
5. If possible, the founder's info could be shared with others--that would require setting up a special e-mail account that the admins would all have access to--that would mean, I guess, that any of the three could bring down the forum if they so desired. Not sure.
6. The advantage to having three admins would be voting on issues. There would never be just one person who had to decide for all the others or there would never be a 1-1 tie.
7. After all this, please count me out as an admin. or mod., but if you set up the forum and a category is slow, let me know and I'll be happy to help pick up the posting.
So, guys, good luck.
Ahhh, but I don't know how to do anything, FV. I'd have to be walked through everything. I would not want sole responsibility or authority to do squat. It would have to be a joint effort with joint decisions with other admins.
Also, whoever takes the reins, PLEASE agree on rules and have consequences for breaking them firmly in place - first, second, third offense breakdown - to avoid any hard feelings. If we know what to expect ahead of time, there's no reason to fuss.
I love OriginalBama...yay! You're the man!
