I never knew how much fun grandchildren are. I have a 3 year old who is my "best friend", her words. We cook, color, go to the flea market all while painted in multicolored nail polish with henna tattoes (is that spelled right?) and lots of hair bows. And all dressed in baby pink, "hot pink" is not "her" pink.
She loves to "fix mimi up". I know I look deranged. But to her we are "twins". So I don't care. And the best thing about grandchildren, the best after watching the daughter who put you through 7 years of teenager hell, is knowing that when the granddaughter is 13 and her mom is too dorky for word, I will still be "The Queen Mimi" to her "Princess Lainey".

Do you all think we need to get it started again?
Maybe we just needed a break?
How are you?
I am doing fantastic. What about you?
Well that is good to know, I'm quite ok myself. Did you have an adequate break?
Yes. I'm working more and it's good for me.
Was your break enjoyable?
Was your break enjoyable?
Oh, yeah enjoyable, do you think it was long enough?
Long enough to be just right.

Hey PUF, whacha doing today?
A glimpse into my evening and weekend world:
My son is obsessed with the alphabet and spends 99% his at home time sitting in the living room floor with his ABC puzzles, phonic boards and favorite ABC book. Sometimes he plays/works on his own, but mostly he expects me to call out each letter (verbally or with sign) at random then he, according to which toy it is, picks it up, writes it or traces it with his finger, then lets me know when he's ready for the next one.
Sooooo, i spend most of my time reading, sewing, writing, working out, computing, etc. Anything that keeps me close by most of the time.
If i go to another room he still lets me know he's ready for the next letter and i yell one back at him. Sometimes, if i tell him i'm busy , he'll work alone for a few minutes.
More answer than you expected? but it explains why i live vicariously through others...lol

Are you having a good Father's day?
Yes I am, been watching wildlife. Ever seen a snake catch a fish?
No, i've never seen that. Is it cool, or is it creepy?

PUF, did you have a good birthday???
I went to the LifeWise luncheon, bought myself a present and my son made me a card at school. It was a very good birthday. Thank you for asking.

Where's everybody at?
I'm here, but getting my son ready for bed in a few minutes. Then i'm taking a long shower. Doesn't that feel good after getting hot and sweaty?
allysmom (Guest)
Yes it does, there is nothing like getting hot and sweaty is there?
and isn't some hot and sweaty much better than others?
allysmom (Guest)
Oh yea, no doubt about it. Don't you think there is one hot and sweaty that no one minds?
yeaaa, the kind of hot and sweaty that even AC doesn't help until it's over, right?
i remember that kind

allysmom (Guest)
Is there anyone else blushing?
I sometimes make myself blush. The real, old fashioned me is sometimes shocked at what the forum me blurts out.....lol.
I think, with me, it's a case of those that can, do,
and those that never have a chance to,
talk about it ?
