Wouldn't it be nice if the Owner's, Operators and Workers in this establishment put up their OWN web page??? I think it would explain a lot more, in more detail... instead of just letting someone advertise it on myspace?

Myspace is not g-rated, and it allows a LOT of things to go on.. and NO, I am not saying everyone who has myspace is bad, but there ARE known predators on there. I am just saying that that isn't the best place for this establishment for kids in our area.

It would be a nice read.

Now, can't we all feel the love this guy's giving us? That's what I'm talking about. That good old fashioned, knock 'em out, tell 'em off, put 'em in their place Christianity. I'm sure you've likened yourself to Jesus with the moneychangers, but I call you Peter attending to Malchus. If these kids would spend as much time with the Christ as they do with their metal bands, maybe they would learn more about conflict resolution than the mosh pit is teaching them.

ummm any possiblility to your thought process that they could be spending time with Christ and a metal band at the same time..the bands are Christian...I think Jesus would listen to rock! probably relax with some Pink Floyd or jam to some Rush too

While there is that possibility, I'm sinply speaking to the evidence this kid is demonstrating by his post's tenor. Time with Christ is rather evident.
The next time you feel like GOD can't use you, just remember...
Noah was a drunk
Abraham was too old
Isaac was a daydreamer
Jacob was a liar
Leah was ugly
Joseph was abused
Moses had a stuttering problem
Gideon was afraid
Samson had long hair and was a womanizer
Rahab was a prostitute
Jeremiah and Timothy were too young
David had an affair and was a murderer
Elijah was suicidal
Isaiah preached naked
Jonah ran from God
Naomi was a widow
Job went bankrupt
Peter denied Christ
The Disciples fell asleep while praying
Martha worried about everything
The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once
Zaccheus was too small
Paul was too religious
Timothy had an ulcer... AND
Lazarus was dead!

My Space is a quick and inexpensive way to get a website...the downside is the posters and people you have to associate with...plus it has a large draw with the youth in this area.

No, by the looks of it, I wouldn't think off the top of my head that it had anything to do with Christianity or being Christian owned. It's kind of sad that whichever Christian group that is involved with this place, has to resort to putting up something like that.

I personally wouldn't judge it on the Myspace profile, alone. As Myspace goes, anyone can make any type of page, and claim it belongs to something else.

I don't know, Im not logged in on Myspace to explore further, it's just kind of hard for me to see a Church group putting up a page like that. Not so hard for me to think that a kid/teenager of the Church to put it up to get others interested and talking about it though.

Either way it's being talked about.. LOL! So, ya know what they say, publicity is publicity even if it's bad publicity.

I definitely agree that if it is church owned and the place is like that, that it could be giving off the wrong idea.

If I were to base my whole opinion strictly on the page itself, nope, My kid wouldn't be going there. Then again, my kid is only 2 now, I'd hate to see some of the future places that might be like that. yikes!

Thanks for making me think though. Smiler

What Christianity means to you may mean somthing else to another.

So, how do you really feel about this issue? My tap dancing shoes are worn out.
Ok, I read to page two and then scanned three. Sorry I didn't read all the comments, but here goes...

I saw a comment that really struck me- sorry it isn't stained glass and steeples. AMEN!

If you don't reach out to those who need it then they will not come to Christ. Reaching out with a high and mighty pious stick is not going to do the trick.

As for the bands...there are ALL types of Christian groups out there. People have different tastes in music, Southern Gospel AIN'T gonna do it for 'em!

I didn't see the nudity or anything that someone mentioned. The myspace itself looks like an advert for video games. I don't particularly care for Halo and such...but some do. If it gives kids a place to hang out and stay out of trouble- kudos.

Before passing judgment on the Christian owners, which isn't our place anyway, why not check it out first? Educate on the content before condemning it.

Just my two cents...plenty of fountains around town if you don't care for it.
Kontan, you do make a good point.

I'm Christian, yet I listen to Heavy Metal.. My favorite band being KoRn... Some people would judge me by that, I suppose. Smiler

I say though now, after perusing the page further while logged into my own Myspace, that from what I can see, it doesnt seem like a bad place at all. Smiler

Probably not a place I'd enjoy, personally, too much. Partly because I don't play video games anymore, and don't play pool much either.. But if it is keeping the kiddos from being out and partying, then more power to the place. Religious or not, any place that can keeps kids away from that kinda stuff, I say good going to! Smiler
