Drove down an old dirt road the other day, pulled over and stopped by a cotton patch, a lot of things have change in this old world today and did the memories come home.

Some things I wish would just stay the same, the respect children used to have for thier parents and grandparents and teachers.

When this world was not so hung up with greed and hatred. When people respectd others and reach out and tried to help their fellow men and women.

Make you wonder Link

Yeah Blues, I know what ya mean. I was just telling my stepdaughter, that is 20, the other day about remembering the first remote control TV I ever saw. It was at my uncles house and I remember thinking, Holy Crap,, you can flip through all 13 channels with this thing. We would hold the button down just to watch the wheel inside the TV turn the channels, lol.

When I was growing up we would play football or baseball outside. Now TV and PlayStation whatever it is now has taken over. Also it seems as if kids have less and less homework to me and more fun classes at school. What has happen?

That's right! Make learning as painful as possible so kids will hate it and want to cut school like we did in the good ol' days.
I remember the first remote control I ever saw. My uncle and aunt had (I believe) a Zenith TV and the remote had something like a reed in it that made the channel changer advance one knotch. No batteries in the remote.
In fact, I remember going to a friend's house that had one of the 1st TV's in town. All of the rest of us had radios , Lone Ranger was my favorite, but every time Fibber McGee opened his closet and all that stuff fell out would give me a good laugh.

One of the things I miss most about the "good ole days" is late at night the sound of a steam locomotive whistle as the train came through.
This is changing the subject from remote controls. But I can remember as a little girl being in the back seat of a car and my Dad was in the front and a buddy of his was driving and I looked and his feet were not on the pedals. I thought he had lost his mind! That was the first time I had seen a car with cruise control--of course my Dad and I was visiting in the BIG CITY OF NASHVILLE so I thought that was the only place they had these fancy cars. Big Grin

Yep, my parents taught me to dance when I was a kid. The Earth was still cooling, and they would take off my shoes and play music. Had to jump around on that hot ground. Big Grin
the first remote we had at my house I was a full grown woman with kids. It was an old broom stick. We only had two channels so it wasn't hard. The kids worked equaly well as a remote.control. "Bubba!!!!! git in here and change the channels.!!!" was commonly heard at our house. Bubba and his brother Bubba and sissy had to go out and turn the antenna frequently too. ff you had rabbit ears for your only antenna sometimes the reception was much better if Bubba just held onto the rabbit ears. He would just have to stand by the tv touching the antenna while we watched certain program
