The current Times Daily poll asked if you are in favor of free two years of college for everybody.  A majority is against that plan. That tells me a lot about the bible belt population. There is a shortage of christian benevolence among the majority of the responders. That also tells the mind set of the Alabama voters. Don't do anything to help you fellow mankind out.

Is that the way you were brought up or is that what Fox and the Tea Party teaches you?

LOL!! Like you who has said no matter how much money he made, no matter if he had more than enough, he'd never refuse the money or take a pay cut even if it meant someone else in need could have a job? That kind of caring for their fellow man? That sure shows how YOU were brought up. Fox and the Tea Party, you  are a broken record. Who did you people blame for everything before Fox, Bush  and the Tea Party came along?? Any chance you hypocrites will take the blame you own anytime soon?

Best, I've tried to be civil about this. I worked under a union contract. I could not change it. I have repeated this several times. I could not take a pay cut and remain on the job. It had nothing to do with giving someone else a job. I have, however, done another persons work when they were sick so they could keep drawing a paycheck.

How many times do I need to say this before you keep repeating the same old tired LIE. That's all you post about me is lies. I know that, you know that, I hope everyone else knows what a liar you are.

I don't care about your union contract, I made it clear it was a "what if" case. What IF you could have the money, what if you could give it up so others could have a job. Nothing to do with a union, I asked you if you would ever turn down money, you said no. You always accuse me of lying and I always prove I'm not. Anyone can see the posts. You just try to justify your greed by saying you had to take the money when that is not the scenario put forth. Then you scurry off and start up somewhere else. Just like this bologna about the voters in Alabama not wanting to help out their fellow man when we have spent billions trying to do just that. I'm tired of throwing good money after bad.

JT, I think the poll reflects the realization that if something is "totally free", it cheapens the experience. Kids won't try to excel at the high school level, adopting an "all I gotta do is pass and graduate, the first two years are free attitude". There must be some sacrifice in the name of responsibility on the part of any individual. And, although as much as I generally disagree with Crash, the program in place does make the student "qualify" for acceptance into the program.

Jt,

Once again I will ask how much is enough to take from someones pay?  No matter how much I may think the idea has merit I know who will be asked to pay for it.  It is a proven fact not even open to debate at this point that the American people were lied to about Obama Care and the cost of it, this idea would be no different.  As you say below I am trying to be nice about this and simply ask how much is enough.  I worked my way thru college so it is not impossible to do "yea it requires sacrifice and determination"  but so do most things worth doing.  I am now trying to learn to play the same guitar I did when I was 15 years old and regret quitting back then.  I give to charity and regardless what you type it has been shown conservatives are actually more inclined to be charitable than liberals.  BTW if you have good grades in high school and score high enough on the ACT you can go to school for virtually free.  I believe in school like most things worth doing you need to have some skin in the game requiring your own effort.

I'm tired of the money pits.

money pit

noun phrase

A project, possession, etc, that costs more and more money

I'll add, because it's true, with no good or acceptable results.

I agree with respect to our own state, but if other states want to waste money on those who choose to take the money and remain uneducated, that's the decision of the voters of other states.

It has NOTHING to do with Fox or the Tea Party.  It has everything to do with the fact that the country is $18 TRILLION in debt and has NO WAY to pay for a program like this.  GET YOUR DEMOCRAT, FREELOADING, SOCIALIST HAND OUT OF MY POCKET!

Most anyone can work part time and pay for community college.  It's relatively cheap and most classes aren't that hard.   Quit spending money on the lotto and invest in a education savings account.  Don't expect me to pay for your kids college when I'm already sacrificing to pay for my own down the road.  Don't be a dim, be responsible for yourself.

Jim, you are a very sorry man boy.  What we actually have a shortage of are able bodied people who don't take handouts.  Expecting someone to be responsible for themselves and not be a burden on society is the Christian way.  The gimmethats, well those are your people. You want them fed, bed, bathed and coddled, then take care of yours, afterall it's the libby way, boy.

I assumed so too. I suspect that Obama wants to expand federal interference into more state government territory to "fix" education like the feds have "fixed" the medical system. It's fixing things like a critter doctor fixes a boy dog.

Many of the problems progressives wish to solve were caused by government interence and/or involvement.  They believe just one more regulation or a few billion more dollars will solve the problem -- self licking icecream cone.

Dims are the ones benefitting from said money pit.  All they know how to do is take.  "Give" is not in their vocabulary unless it is phrased in the form of "giving it" to those who actually pay taxes.

If that were true, you would know better.  It's apparent by your desire to make everything easy and free for all that you don't.  Stealing from responsible citizens who are not a burden on society to pay those don't contribute anything is not a good plan.   No, no, no is not strong enough, HELL NO!

Once more jt, I have never asked for or been given government aid. Use your head, or try to use it. if I was a gimmethat I'd be a democrat and standing in that 'gimme line' with the rest of the gimmethats.

Once more, I am a democrat, I have never "stood in line with my hand out wanting a gimme that". I have worked, I have gone to school, I have changed my line of work several times. I still think you cost the government more than me.

Straight out of the mouth of Fox (or is it Faux) news. They have trained you well.

I suppose you feel that corporate welfare is a good thing to do?

I know you don't understand the concept, but some people SEND money to the government instead of TAKING it from them. It's called paying taxes. I'm one of those that sends the money. Don't just throw out your childish statements, explain how I cost the government money. I know you don't think the ones paying the taxes should benefit, but still, I ask again, explain how I 'cost' the government.
