It was great, it was cold, it was windy, and it was imperfect, just like the original, 40 years ago, where they messed up the beginnings to songs, missed licks, hit an occasional bad note, and John even forgot the words once. The recording at Trowbridges actually sounds better than it did live, from where I was. It was had to hear the guitars. Keep in mind that they were using vintage amps and guitars, the sound was bouncing off the buildings and the wind had an adverse effect. The raw sound was what made it fun. And, if you watch him while he's singing, David Weiss is rolling a throat lozenge around in his mouth because he's got cold symptoms and he is a little hoarse.

It's great to live in a town w/ such rich music heritage.
