I got my tickets on Fandango yesterday and just picked them up at the box office at lunch. I will be at 7:30 tonight. The 7 and 945 were both sold out, but they opened up about 6 other viewing times. I am used to movies not being as good as the books, but I want to see my imagination come to life...I'll let you know what I think...keep in mind this is technically a "teen movie"...

I have not read the book(s). The three girls have read all 4 of them, and apparently so had all of the girls in the theater. They would "oooh!!!" and gasp and giggle before things actually happened in the movie! Or they'd be laughing at things that were described in the book, but not being shown in the actual movie. Kinda weird, totally annoying!
That said, the movie was ok. Kristen Stewart (Bella) did a great job, hands down the best part of the movie. Robert Pattinson (Edward) was good and pulled of the American accent pretty well, but I thought he was over-acting a lot. Reminded me of how the guy in Nickelback over-sings. You want to just pat the guy on the back and say "relax, have a beer!". Cam Gigandet (James) reminded me of a young Brad Pitt - fellow O.C. fanatics might remember him as Kevin Volchok from Season 3. All the little girls gasped when he appeared shirtless. The movie wasn't boring, didn't seem to drag out (even though it is almost exactly 2 hours long), and wasn't even very predictable. The acting was a little stiff, but it might have been due to the writing being a bit stiff. It is hard to move a story from a book to a movie screen.
Overall, I give it props. I'd much rather sit through Twilight than a lot of the other teen fluff out there (High School Musical, Camp Rock, anything Hannah Montana, Cheetah Girls, etc...). If you want to see it and get your money's worth - I suggest going when the little girls are all at school!
