I'm more of an American Idol watcher... I tried watching this when I saw that Zac Hacker was on there. It just didn't really appeal to me, not to make that a reflection on how they sing, though. I've seen him and his sister a few times in the past sing. Both of them deserve to be there.
However, I would be watching it, if my friend Jay had gotten in. He was one of the 56 finalists. Otherwise, good luck to the Hacker's and I hope they do well.

I have seen Zac and Angie on several different occasions, and they are really good... I am happy they have made it as far as they have, I wish them the BEST of luck and hope one of them win!!!!
But, like Manda, I like American Idol... I have a 2 CD's from one of our friends who made it all the way to Simon, Randy and Paula... She is REAL good. I watched last night, and the night in Milwalkee and could NOT believe the ones that were put through.

I'm not a fan of either but I did see part of American Idol last night and it seems to me they were showing people that weren’t playing with a full deck for entertainment purposes. Its just one step away from Howard Stern having mentally retarded people on his show for the sole purpose of making fun of them. I guess when American Idol does it its okay?
I would have bet that Kindred_Spirit is a fan of American Idol or as I call it "Americans are way to Idol". Karahoky or American Idol appeal to about the same mentality ( I realize the show has great ratings but so does Jerry springer) . The Hacker's are both great artists. Notice I said artists. They are real Musicians and I wish them the best. Maybe if it weren't for all the Karahoky in the area they could make a descent living here. By the way Kindred it is not required that you answer every forum posted. Some of the forums you don't have a clue what the people are talking about, yet you answer them all.

Spunion, It's obvious you don't really know my mom very well. I have a very strong need to defend her, but I know she's a big girl and can do that better than I ever could. But she's still my mom so I must say a few things.
To enlighten for change and those like him/her, I don't know what my mom might have said for some to feel so strongly against her, but you really should take the time to get to know her.
She really is one of the kindest, most compassionate people I know. That's something that doesn't always come across in the type written word, unfortunately.
I've seen it for nearly 6 years on a website that I help administrate for that has over 60,000 members. The type written word is so often misconstrued, it is so not funny.
People find offense, where there is none, and people usually localize that online by attacking. I don't quite understand bickering online, it serves no purpose, especially if there is no reason for the whole debacle.

I watched the show last night and the Hacket girl was one of the best. Her brother did not impress me as much as he did Randy Owens and the other judges.
He tried to sing a song that Earl Thomas Conlley sings and he just sounded weak to me.

Actually spunonion, if you think about it... and try to reason in your head about WHY something like what "for change" said, then you have to try to make full circle. I did mention jealousy, as well as a few more points of conjecture as to WHY I was personally attacked by this persnna??? pssst, smurph... the REASON I like AI better is that it is over by 9:00, which is what time I am usually going to bed, since I get up at 3 AM. THAT is one reason I didn't watch the show, but I am VERY VERY happy that Zack did great last night, I know he was sick last week and STILL made it through!!! Both of them have so much talent they deserve to win!!

I agree, Smurph! Angela Hacker's voice lends itself to the type of songs Bonnie Raitt sings. I love Angela's voice, it has a rough quality that appeals...Angela, we a rooting for you, Girl!! She does a lot of different types of songs, and does it all well, but I would like to hear her do Black Velvet, also.

smurph, there were a bunch of people at work today bragging on Zack and his performance, they were very impressed. Angela is great also. I personally didn't see the show, I go to bed too early for that one, but I AM sincerely happy these two are doing so well!!!
They are doing so much better than they used to do in clubs, but I guess the sound and sizes of bld's make a huge difference. Small clubs just don't do people like the Hackers justice at all.. and that praise came from a guy I work with who knows Zack, and he owns his own small recording studio.

sorry i missed the attack you spoke of. i didnt think his post was that bad compared to others i have seen, there have been much worse posts directed toward other indivivduals. just as your daughter said in her vigorous defense you might have misconstrued the type written word. as far as your 1000+ posts, post all you want but my granddaddy said the more a person talks,the less people listen.

His attack was directed at ME, personally, and was not nice at all, but what you don't know, it wasn't the FIRST time either, that is one reason I reacted the way I did... and my daughter will always defend me, IF I AM RIGHT, and in this case, I didn't deserve that. Spunion, I only defend my mom if she is right, as she has always done for me. If I see her step out of line, though, I don't publicly humiliate her by telling her on the forums. (but of course, I see her often so, no need there.)
